Round 20 vs Eels

Agree that RedV members should have voting rights. All you get for RedV membership is a reserve seat and a bit of random paraphernalia each year. Far more valuable to pay $65 for 5 years St George leagues membership and have voting rights, and buy tickets to the games you can attend.

Now I wonder why the club wouldn’t bump up RedV membership by say $20 per year and include membership to St George leagues in that? Can anyone think of any reason for that?

The short answer is that the old boys club don't want the fans having a say in the clubs affairs.

They have gone out of their way to maintain control.

Listening to piggy riddell this morning who is obviously close to the club.
He said Mary will 100% be there next year but there will be some off-field changes that will appease the fans.
I cannot see any change other than Mary himself appeasing the fans.
Depressing stuff.

Hornby and Young are off contract at the end of the season. They will be thrown under the Mary bus to save Mary.

I heard that also mate. The bit about Mary was depressing to hear even though we already know it.

Just to clarify one point though, he actually mentioned changes both "on and off the field" so i expect that their might be a bit of movement of players also. Or maybe it was Lat's retirement he was referring to?

I'm not a member, never have been.
I don't go to games.
NRL is a much better game on TV IMO.

So back to the Parra game, I actually have a hunch we win if we turn up like the last 20 against Souths. I suspect Parra don't yet truly believe in themselves and away from their home they've been more like they've been in recent years. Of course a win will depend on what's going on between the ears of some key players wearing the red V.

There are rumours that a SGI rep forward is very close to being dropped- I'm wondering if its Tariq Sims- either he's playing injured or he's (understandably) peed off with you know who but certainly he's been a shadow of his former blockbusting self, particularly in attack. Of course, Mary's lack of nous in involving him in edge plays can't be discounted.

Did Lafai play against Souths?- he should consider a career in magic as he managed to make himself invisible and do nothing. Pereira or Rav should be given a run in his centre position to give us some oompf in attack. Annoyingly, Aitken had one of his better attacking games ( still a liability when required to ""read"" in defence though) so I can't in fairness drop him this week.

Have you seen Brad Arthurs record against Mary. Its better than Bellamy's or at least even over the same time.
