Round 20 vs Lewis & Friends

Think Ivan made the right call in terms of the wing position for this game, however if kev doesn't have a notably good game then Simmons should slot in and stay in. Rather his reliability in this business end of the season and through the finals. Kev already has finals experience, and I don't see him as part of our future first grade plans anyway. We could be waiting forever for Kevin to have that breakout string of games and I'm not prepared to do that.

So one more game for naiqama, providing Simmons plays well this week and Kevin doesn't have a blinder.

Maybe Mansour should come into the front row when he returns... couldn't possibly be any softer then Kite has been. Would probably pump out twice the metres and have an arm ready for offload in all 20 of his hit ups.
Mckendry has been just as soft.

Average 80m a game is f**king pathetic.

Manu makes as many meters as our props and lacks the impact in the backrow he should have had. Makes sense to push him up for Idris. Those two changes make the forwards a little more competitive for places, and opens up a center spot for a little more strike power and someone to capitalise a bit more on Sowards kicks. Idris won't move until we have someone to fill that center position though, and our youngsters are still probably a little green.

Yeo could play center temporarily, but with him in the backrow its much for muchness and he's not the strike centre we need long term anyway.

Manu could play prop this week, but it would force out another prop and cost us size we probably need. This season, the answer we need is for our props to step up a gear. Under-performing props are sapping the entire side. With Peachy out, there's not really any standout backrowers pushing Manu into prop either.

Docker needs a break from firsts. He throws his weight around in defence better than anyone, but isn't making enough tackles, and besides defence is only half the game. His off-season will require a lot of weight gain if he's to become a more complete player.

For mine, the next step for the side looks something like

1. Moylan 2. Mansour 3. Jennings 4. Whare 5. DWZ 6. Soward 7. Wallace
8. Manu 9. Segeyaro 10. Latimore 11. Idris 12. Peachy 13. Taylor
14. Plum 15. McKendry 16. Cartwright 17. Brown

But that could be a little while.

Also think Ivan's playing games with the numbers on some blokes' backs.

Agreed, James Roberts was our man. Was so dangerous for the titans on Sunday but I respect the decision in prioritising team culture. Don't think waqa Blake is ready yet and Robert is too young, how is George at playing centre? Either way idris to the forwards is at least a year away.

You look at Mansour even 1 off the ruck still gains 10m a run. BMM looks good just gets injured after 3 or so games. Manu looked good at prop. Need a few of the next batch to kick on really. Smith, RCG look good

George has a terrible passing game far worse then Franze had. So can't see it a centre still needs to do a simple draw & pass.

Kev was playing centre in NSW Cup when he got the call up. Blake is there now so it's great for his development. Off season further development playing trials in NRL & go from there.

Until then Idris will stay he won't lose us games and isn't keeping anyone out.

I agree with the above. I think Blake has earned the shot at centre for next year. He's handled the step up to NSW Cup very quickly and has a heap of potential. I'd have DWZ on the wing ahead of Jennings for the first part of the season to get him up to speed then potentially drop back to NSW Cup for the second half to play fullback and get ready to replace Moylan in 2016 while Jennings tales over the wing.
On the pack next year, we really need props to step up so we can afford to have Api on the bench. He could be a real key for us as long as the pack is pulling its weight. I'm thinking Anderson might be the key there. He can play big minutes and will slog his guts out.
2016 I think
DWZ, Mansour, Blake, Whare, Jennings, Moylan, Soward, Anderson, Segeyaro, RCG/Latimore, Peachey, Cartwright, Taylor, Api, Idris, Manu, Brown/Docker/RCG/Latimore/VTK

VTK could potentially be following his brother to Nth Qld. God knows how Lipa Tia Kilifi couldn't get a run in our 20s.

great if Mansour was fit for this game but personally id be tempted to give him another week of rest or put him on the bench if we really need him. dont want to aggrivate his injury which could result him not playing for the rest of our season which could stuff us big time.

i like what ive seen from Kev naiqama, always looking to get the quick play the balls going to put us on the front foot.

though our biggest concern is the forwards, need them making more runs and more metres :)

Who are these many?
Chris, I don't need to name names but there were a few who said Kev was a favourite and wouldn't get dropped. This subject hasn't come up for a while, for obvious reasons.

Personally, I think Cleary has shown himself to be utterly ruthless. I think he would drop Santa if he stopped pulling his weight at christmas.

Not taking anything away from Jeremy Latimore, he's been fantastic but when he has made the most metres out of all your props by over 300 metres this season then the front row is probably an issue. Even with the time Jamal missed he's run in more metres then our props besides Latimore.

Kev was picked at f**king lock for half of last year. The day Seg signed here he should of been playing 80 but fortunately we are past that now.

I think "dropping" Kevin, so late and only after injury was about as safe a decision as a coach could have made, you'd be hard pressed to find more than one here who wanted him brought back, and this is a conservative bloc.
