Who said he was a failure at 6? He's just overplaying his hand at 6 and looks his best when he goes back to playing more like a second rower. He's a great player with any number on his back.

HE is just at his best when his focus is running straight into the line trying to break through defenders. He has the size and strength to make great metres, actually bust through the line or draw enough guys in that his offloads give the guy receiving it a lot of space to make shit happen.

When he plays a 5/8th role he tends to be a bit like Benji. Going for low percentage plays. His teammates aren't on the same page much of the time and his great plays can be undone by shocking ones. Good for highlights reels. Bad for building and systaining pressure.

We're very lucky to have Cleary doing those things. He's the reason we have done aswell as we have sonce Soward was punted. He's controlling games with his boot and often compensating for our weak defence up the middle by removing forwards from the equation early in the tackle counts. The kid is a genius. He's not perfect yet but he is so smart and has the skill to pull off the plays he sees unfolding in his head. He will be so much better in 2017 having the experience he has had this year. A full off season knowing he will be the man running the team and an off season where he can work on a combination with Moylan and Te Maire Martin.

Well summed up. Bryce is talented enough to make a go out of any position but unless he is going to be a half whats the point of continuing to play him there? Its gone beyond using him as a stop gap. Moylan spends half his time in the halves now which leaves us without a supporting fullback. How often do we make unsupported breaks and half breaks? It all relates. Bryce always looks better when he is running and attacking the line more rather then organising set plays and ball playing so why persist with it? That is my whole problem with it. Bryce's defense has gotten worse when it should be improving, we are hurting his development while he figures out his role in the halves and for what reason? It cant be a long term thing surely.

Hang on, isn't this basically all anyone who is critical of Cartwright at 6 ever says?

No, being critical of the person and the postion are two different things.Saying he is useless and shouldn't try and be a half - How is that possible when he has been put there to plug a hole - in the halves?. I am pretty sure as f**k he doesn't want to be there, but if you are told to, you do it.

I agree he is no 6. But i am sure as hell not going to day in day out bag the shit out of him for playing in a position he doesn't want to play in...

TMM is back this week, so you'll can move the f**k on.

Moylan is slow much better getting fast guys supporting. Cartwright doesn't have bad reads though just bad techinique

Ofcourse he will. What player hasn't copped it for us after shocking mistakes?

The fans just want us to win games and field the best possible team for doing so. Its not exclusive to us... that's the fans of every team.

There are Broncos fans that have turned on Hunt and a year ago he was arguably the form 7 of the comp.

But we are winning games yet we get people bitching still

It genuinely feels like "I'll fight you after school!" is going to get thrown out soon...

Great second half (apart from falling asleep with 10 to go) - Absolutely love watching Cleary play - He's just class through and through - Carty had a shocking opening 20, but came good when he stopped overplaying it every time he touched the ball.
