Cartwright in the halves playing both sides, Grevsmuhl in the middle and no RCG and the attack takes care of itself. Just Blake and DWZ need to sort out their depth positioning on the end of the backline. Defense is still f**ked.

we were better. DWZ not on his wing and 2 poor attempts from Bryce and Blake given the ball they had was pretty good

Even in our wins he as it his best when not trying to kick and run sideways looking for a ballrunner and instead runs straight at the line with an offload ready to go. When he tries to be a 6 it backfires more often than not. When he just runs at the line it works more often then not.

Less is more for Cartwright.

If we want to make the finals and be there week 2 we need to get players in the roles that best suit them.

Learning to make a tackle and wrap the ball up on first contact would be great also.

Exactly. No one is saying Cartwright is a half but atm (Hopefully not this week) he's the best option. We are winning games and scoring plenty of points so you can't say it's a failure. Id he's going to stay there he shouldn't kick though leave it too the other 3 spine players

Because he isn't. When he tries to play as a 5/8th, he screws everything up. Our attack fires when he plays like a second rower, which is what he is. Look at the second half last night - he just started running straight and hard, more so than he has done for a while.

So we could have spent the last 12 weeks with Moylan at 6 (improving our depth there, and not now having to rely on a 20 year old rookie to come back from a lengthy lay off to immediately form a partnership with our admittedly very, very, very good 18 year old halfback), Cartwright developing into a world class backrower rather than stagnating in a role he is not suited for, and maybe STILL having our attack firing (this is conjecture, because it has never been tried, for some unfathomable reason). And maybe not struggling to make the 8 this late into the season. It's pretty basic.

How about the facthe has noidea what play to go for when he's playmaking?

He runs sideways. Kicks dead. Makes poor decisions on when to do what. He just isnt able to control a game despite having all the skills of a half.

When he plays straight and takes on the line he is far more lethal. And while he's wearing a 6 hes not playing as a 5/8th. He's playing as a second rower. Moylan is far better then him at summing up situations and when he does Cartwright goes back to doing what he does best. Bending or breaking the line and creating holes for runners.

Lol why do you care merkin? I am going to post what I want no matter how many whinges you have. Cartwright looked lost for half a game then reverted to playing like the skilled backrower he is and killed it. Its a waste of time having him in the halves over Moylan, he can do a job but he is struggling even last night you could see how he forces things and takes wrong options when he actually tries to be a playmaker. Good things happen for him when he runs the ball, last night was a win for the people arguing that Carty shouldn't be playing in the halves I don't know what you f**king geniuss are on about.
