Where’s Salmon this week, is he injured, I assume he must be given not named at all.
According to Peter Lang he's been given the week off. As he's played every game this season.

It is an interesting debate whether to rest or not.
Ordinarily I would be happy just to put out our best side and build momentum into the play offs , but the trip to Townsville is potentially a taxing away trip so perhaps there is merit in resting one or two keys players. Not so much to avoid injury, they can happen at training,
Ill just be happy to accept whatever the brains trust decide.
Hopefully whatever side we take to Townsville is a competitive one, given wife and I are there for the game.

The Minor Premiership is a significant achievement, not least the joy around the 19 wins thus far in 2022.Ivan could win another 4 or 5 premierships with this club. The claim would be made it was because of a stacked roster and luck.
Wife and I will be on Magnetic Isl@nd when team is announced so we will have to suck it up either way.I can see Yeo, Bizza, Critta, perhaps even Edwards being rested. for that game.
It is a good point, and our main competitors are scoring more points than we are going into the play offs.

We are perhaps the best defensive side, but we certainly don’t have the points scoring ability of a couple of the other sides at there best.
My thoughts exactly..sheesh, what has this guy got to do to gain respect?? In my eyes, 3 minor prems (shows consistency) 2 GFs with a win and another poss GF and win..great coach. Even if we dont win this year (doubt that will eventuate)..still..great coach. Previous posters have pointed out, our team was nowhere 2019 and tipped for bottom 4 2020. Now, in the conversation as one of the top sides of the decade..to do that, you need to be...a great coach!Ivan could win another 4 or 5 premierships with this club. You misunderstand me mx. I am pointing out this is not the same as last year and the club has clearly changed its approach. I agree they should rest certain players EdwardsWe can't fall down the ladder. We could lose by 50 the next 2 weeks and we still finish first.
It's more than just workload this year. It's potential for injury / suspension. There's nothing gained by using our guns this year. Guys like Yeo, Edwards and Api especially are good enough and experiencd enough and fit enough where we can give them 2 weeks off and they won't skip a beat in finals week 1. They would just be fresher and have less chance at missing the finals series.
1 game in 4 weeks for professionals of their calibre is not going to hold them back in the slightest. I think its just going to give them a hell of a lot more in the tank to comfortably cruise through finals. They're still training and perfecting stuff when not playing.
But each to his own. My worry isn't burnout. My worry is we lose an incredibly important player with nothing on the line and live to regret it.
I would have given Yeo, Edwards and Api 2 weeks off before finals. I would give Tago, May, To'o, Crichton, Kikau etc. Next week off only. Head into finals with a fresh and fit roster. Our training off the field is second to none and with a fresh roster there's no team going to be able to outscore us. We won't concede more than 2 tries if we're at peak fitness. Hell we could keep a few top 8 teams to nil at our best. We will score 3+ tries comfortably just by sustaining pressure and the other team being unable to maintain their intensity for 80 minutes.
The onl thing that will stop us going back to back is losing one of Edwards, Cleary, Api or Yeo. I think without one of them we're still ahead of the pack slightly. Take 2 out and i think we fall slightly behind..cleary is guaranteed to be there week 1. The others have 80 minutes to survive first. Doesn't sound like much. But shit can go wrong fast. Especially when there's not much pressure.
We are yet to completely dominate a finals series. We will scrap and strangle teams but other teams can blow off the park
I agree, if we have players with niggling injuries, then by all means give the a week off for the Cowboys game, otherwise I lean towards playing our best fit and available side. You can’t plan for injuries, they can happen anywhere at any time. Same for other sides, it just is what it is.Winning is a habit and the team shows consistency week after week. If the players are playing tired, by all means rest them; Api starting off the bench last week is a good example. But otherwise just go out and win.
Cleary could be the Messiah, and still you'd not be happy.
f**k you are a miserable bitch.
Any discussion you shoot down.
I have said he is is in the very good coach category but not a great yet

I understand where you are coming come.Reminds me of Liverpool last season. Gets to 3 cup finals and cannot score a goal in any of them!
We are not a good attacking team. We are the best defensive team and we just strangle other teams to death. I'm fine with it, as long as it works.
I personally think only 3 sides can win it realistically. Only have Easts and Melbourne challenging us and it will take something very special from themI understand where you are coming come.
We simply don’t have the points in us that other sides are capable of.
We rely on pressure, field position etc entirely different dynamic.
We need to get in the grind, hopefully get in front, and grind the opposition into submission.
It is what it is, which is why I think this current competition is wide open @nd there are realistically six sides capable of taking out the premiership.
The Liverpool analogy is interesting because Man Utd won 2-1 on monday morning despite only having 30% of possession across the 90 minutes.
