Hook wont do any deal regarding Fafita unless it's considerably in our favour ie: low $$$ on our behalf.
He made the same type of decision regarding JoeO and a few others.
So basically they fall into what we want or not at all.
The ball (so to speak) is firmly in the hands of the Sharks, which would mean they would have to chip in a majority portion of his salary for the rest of this year AND next.

If they need to get him off their list due to personality class reasons then now is the time. Their cap becomes clearer at the end of this season with a few 'overpriced' off contract inc Dugan, Woods and Moylan. Plenty of $$ then forcre-signing Talakai and Rudolph and go shopping for replacements. Fafita is the least of their worries in this regard, hence the reported (up to) 90% input.

Assuming we get a win against Manly this week with the same team, who’d you drop to fit him in? Williame I guess but that makes a 4 forward rotation.
I would drop Wiliame if we picked up Fifita. Yeah 4 forwards are risky but Fui can cover the centre’s at a pinch and Merrin or Poasa can cover Fui. I wouldn’t move Fui there with our current bench if say Ford or Ellis was in the 17 but Fifita is next level above those 2 currently

Holding onto the ball, dominant possession & defend well will get the job done. Most of our pointes conceded this year have come off the back of our errors.

Also I watched the Cow’s replay again today & Dufty definitely did clock off on the Holmes try. He had ample time to clean up. Not good. Also Tariq wasn’t as bad as I first thought, he flattened Drinkwater leading to an error.

It's his blockbusting running that seems to have disappeared- he's been easily handled by defences in recent times.

He only played about 9 games last year and often topped the metres gained for his side when they started him at prop. His stats are better than Woods.

Well, with Frizzell gone, he's now our No 1 edge forward- in fact our only experienced edge forward. I'm looking for him to be making breaks against opposition centres and setting up supports in the final third.

Haven't seen much from him in attack so far but we're only into Round 2. Tariq has said that this is the best pre-season he's had so I'll be expecting more from him sooner rather than later.

Great to hear Hook says he isn’t pleased with our first two performances and that we need to improve quickly

That in itself is progression from McPeanut. With Hook saying a such, he’s telling the boys that just because they won, all is still not good enough, they must keep pushing themselves.

l love it, finally a coach who won’t accept 50% is good enough.
