Round 4 Vs Warriors

Something no one seems to consider with Sauce is the fact he makes big metres gives more juice to the forwards to do what they do. Maybe it's that he has been so good for us in the past clouding reality. It's a tough one.

And that is why he gets a start over Whare for me. Whare is practically invisible out there. Mansour has 2 errors. 2 try assists. A try and coming in top 5 for metres gained in the comp.

Can't really believe it is a debate. All things being equal Burton clearly is the better player at the moment. Now taking all other factors like Luai having more experience in the top grade etc, it just makes it more of a clearer decision. Apart from that one game against the Warriors years back, I really haven't seen enough apart from him jinking side ways going no where and then dumping the ball to a flat footed player to take the hit.

Set up his own try on the weekend, set up the first Burton try with his bomb and played a key hand in the Burns try. You’re being way too harsh.

If you haven’t seen anything beside the first game you haven’t been watching properly. He’s had 10 try assists in 21 games, and in most of those games he’s played limited minutes.

Whatever we do with the backs we have to find a way to get To’o more involved and to improve the right side attack in general. The left looks good and will certainly be our go to side but our right side attack the last two games has not looked very threatening at all.

Can the wingers just switch sides?

4 main ways a winger can score his own try. Ie. Not be gifted open space

beat their man with pace and/or a step

jumping ability

diving ability

barging over

Mansour is probably only capable of one of these anymore. And even then we never see him barge for a try anymore

Maybe I’m sounding like Ivan & being reactive rather than proactive, but if we keep winning I don’t see the need for wholesale changes. I think it would have a detrimental affect on team moral as well. I also think Sauce has been excellent this year despite his limitations.

Don’t necessarily have to make them wholesale. Drop one of Mansour or Whare now, make more changes later in the season. But I’m almost certain we’ll need more attacking options if we’re going to compete with the better teams.

We are undefeated so we won’t see changes until we see some ordinary performances.

As for Sauce.
1st in NRL for metres gained.
3rd in average metres a game
Top offloader in the side
2 try assists (same as Luai) same amount of tries as him too.
Same amount of line breaks as Kikau
11 tackle busts. 4 in the side
3 errors equal with a few others

So stats show Mansour is going well. While we are going well he will keep his spot

On the flip side is he a net positive with the faster game?

He can do a lot of that from another position. He’s not a winger anymore.

Maybe Ivan should move To’o to the left side of the field, an edge of Kikau, Chrichton and To’o could be devastating.

Move Mansour to right wing next to Naden, Naden doesn’t pass anyway so Mansour can just do what he’s good for without having to worry about scoring tries.
