Although I dare say that the Knights will probably have yet another MNF game as the Warriors wouldn't have had one up to round 20 .......

Warriors are MNF this weekend Poffo ;-)

It's Penrith without one yet. Their game against Canberra should be in R20 IMO - MNF does well down there and Penrith need to have at least one.

As for whinging about NZ and MNF - remember they're two hours ahead of us which means it kicks off 9pm their time on a weeknight. Hardly fair.

the raiders were promised no more MNF games this year... although after the success of the last two that may not be the case any more.

By who? No-one gets promised sh*te. Everyone gets promised a certain amount across the board - the NRL doesn't stick to that so why would they honour a promise that so far has only been hearsay?

by the NRL, because they agreed to swap with the bunnies earlier in the year.

Soufs v titans could be a big spoon battle by then
Mrs Prince will be happy when Scotty is in a mood getting belted every week and the team he left sits pretty around the 4/8 and run home with 6/9 games at home.

Where was it written? Haven't seen anything on it in the media.

It was from memory in a quote attributed to one of the Canberra management and the reason the Raiders didn't want a Monday night game was due to the weather from May-August being too cold to get a big crowd. They want Sunday afternoon games for obvious reasons.

Sure you can argue then they wouldn't want Friday or Saturday nights either but the simple reality is people are prepared to go out on a fri/sat night because they don't have to work the next day whereas a monday night - work the next day and a cold night = not as appealling.

The wording used from memory that Canberra agreed to the switch on the understanding that they would not have any Monday night football games for the rest of the season for the above reason.

Otherwise why would they have agreed to the change? that game v Roosters was in April and it wasn't quite at chilly as it is going to get.

The problem is, MNF has been most successful in the Nation's Capital in terms of increased crowd figures.

The Warriors also got an exemption from home Monday Night games - for obvious reasons.

I can see how it might appear that way. However, crowds as a whole have been up in Canberra overall this season. The 13,109 that attended the MNF match against the Knights is, in fact, the lowest attendance in the last 3 home matches. Only the pathetic 9,556 against the Storm in round 2 (Saturday night after a heavy loss against Manly and rain all day) comes in lower.

Since then, we've had 15,862 for the Roosters on a Monday and 14,387 for Manly on a Sunday. Now these aren't great numbers compared to some other clubs, but I think it's safe to say it's a much bigger improvement on where they've been the last few years.

With the Dragons this Friday we could well have our biggest crowd of the season. I definately don't think it's a Monday-specific thing, people are just coming out to watch the Raiders in Canberra again.
