So how does the ESL play in the summer then???
er? Northern English summer lasts 3 months at best and is more like Aussie winter! Only Catalans would come close to our heat but they would rarley get above 30 and play in an evening when avg temp is around 19.

Although the UK's summer of 2023 has been something of a washout so far, the country is getting hotter, with temperatures over 40oC – first experienced in the UK in 2022 – set to become the norm...

Here Mr know it all

haha, couple of days a year doesnt make a summer

Jun-Sept its lucky to crack and avg of 23degrees in North of England. Last June was second hottest on record and temp avg was 16degrees. I dont think heat stroke is a big issue yet!

Sure when temps have gone up 10 degrees or so on avg then it'll be an issue for ESL, but we'll all be dead by then.

The only good thing about the RUWC coming to Australia is it'll bring lots of Poms into the country who will spend lots of money. If we can get them to frequent the Leagues Clubs and spend a fortune on the pokies and grog then it'll be a win for rugby league.

Oh dear. This is you, isn't it?
Word for word lines up with your rants. 2017 was a long time ago brother. Time to let go of Gil's five year domination of Canberra plan LOL.
Nope, not me. The idea that the AFL could take over Canberra in five years is fanciful under any circumstances, but the brief history and numbers the author provided are still broadly reflective of the situation in Canberra despite being dated. Sorry that reality isn't what you wish it to be, but it is what it is.

If you wish to remain wilfully ignorant that's your business, but please refrain from lying about the reality of the situation to others. It makes it very difficult for those of us that are actually from Canberra and do actually care about the sport in the region to build support for investment into the sport and infrastructure here.

So our WC In 26, and a year after the yawnion version, very interesting

So does this mean in 27 NRL clubs have to forfeit their grounds again???like womens soccer this year..
Nope, World Rugby moved the start date of the Union World Cup so it wouldn't go up against the NRL or AFL.

Fancy that hey ? They tell us the RUWC is the 2nd biggest event in the world yet they're scared to go up against tiny domestic sports like league and Aussies rules :D

Pretty sure they are holding it after the finals finish

it’s be funny to see the union World Cup being outraged by Friday night football though.

By then the salary cap will be 15 to 20 million

the post World Cup will be a feeding frenzy for cashed up nrl clubs

the World Cup on their door step will be a good audition for nrl clubs to see what’s available
The salary cap is locked in till end of 2027.

The World Cup is in 2027
I’m talking about signing players after the World Cup

think about it

it’s not difficult
Well you shouldnt have started your guess with 'By then" should you?
What you meant to say was 'the following year I am guessing the salary cap will be.....'
