Wheres the money coming from to target NRL players? ARU don't have a rich tv deal.
Let Twiggy loose and he could buy the entire Kangaroo squad for the Farce. News story yesterday had him taking home a personal cheque of $2.3billion last year from his mining operations!

The Telegraph has a story on thier website 'exclusively ' revealing the players the ARU are targeting. Anyone with access able to list them ?
Burton and Suaalii are known but would be keen to know the others.

'RA has drafted a hit list of champion NRL players for the 2025 British and Irish Lions tour and the 2027 World Cup which includes Suaalii, Tom Trbojevic, Latrell Mitchell, Cameron Murray, Ryan Papenhuyzen, Matt Burton and Nelson Asofa-Solomona.

The Daily Telegraph has been told RA will prioritise NRL players who have previously played rugby union.'

Rugby Australia is building a powerful financial war chest in expectation of lodging a stunning $10m offer over five years for Sydney Roosters star Joseph Suaalii.

2mill a season for Suaalii is insane, not even the Roosters could find a way to match that offer :D

So they are targeting an entire backline of leaguies. Finally union admit we have better and more skilled player's :D

It is money for old rope, get paid more for doing less, travel the world, go to the Olympics and Cwealth games. TBF if you can put up with wasting your talent away and being looked down on by snobs its not a bad gig!

Sure Sualii will stay for a pie and coke at the Roosters , after all he’s a junior, oh wait - well perhaps not, but can’t remember any Easts player that left for a better contract, they just stay.

It's a good piont you make.
If a company offered me more money to do less work I'd take it in a heartbeat.

In the article, the money's coming from expected bonanzas with the British and Irish Lions tour. followed by hosting the WC.

The thing with Suaalii is he looks so impressive because he's on the end of an incredible back line, the majority of his tries he's only had to catch the ball and fall over the line. He's scored some great tries from pin piont kicks but is he going to get the same opportunities from the Wallabies back line ? No chance !

Suaalii is identical to Suliasi Vunivalu, same size, same style of game and what has he achieved since heading over to rugby ? 2/3rds of f%$k all!

How many Wallabies or All Blacks have played in the Olympics Rugby 7s?

2/3rds of f**k all would be my guess, I understand those spots are for specialist 7s players usually (but could be wrong)

For mine, Rugby Australia don't have the money or the prestige to lure anyone of any great consequence.

Yeah, kudos to anyone who can get paid that much for doing less work, no criticism of any player taking that silly money.

I meant more they aren't going to be able to win anything for the wallabies if they cant match it in the forwards which by far the most important factor in that game. And the RU will be back to where they started.

The money coming from Rugby's war chest is from private equity. So the Wobbleroos better win something or they'll want there money back.
