Rugby League 3 for Wii

at the end of the day, regardless about sidhe's budget and whatever, the product they delivered was absolute garbage.

i went to a mate's house yesterday and we had a few games of RL World Cup edition, and straight away I could tell him what the bugs were and remembered a few old ones.

needs a different engine, different gameplay and an overhaul. i have played the latest RU game from EA sports and the fluency of the play in it is just astounding compared to RL. (Yes I know EA has a higher budget, but why cant Sidhe or any other studio ring up and pick the brains of these programmers?)
it's not that simple. every developer would have signed an NDA (non disclosure agreement) and wouldn't be allowed to tell outside developers squat.

ARL96 was a re-hash of EA's Rugby Union & the only thing wrong with it was it arrived during the super league war. Other than that I played it for years....and still have it. Sidhe should give up the rights to EA, and let them re-hash their latest RU game.

ARL 96 was good, there were probs with that too but i quite enjoyed it, esp fattys commentary.

But sidhe only picked up the rights a few years ago, its not like EA couldnt have had another go if they wnated it, i just dont think EA see it as a big enopugh market to develop a game for Aus, NZ and GB

that sentence there shows youve got no f**king idea what your talking about...

Sidhe cant give up the rights you dickhead... there only the developer.

some of you idiots need to understand that Sidhe are brought into this project by HES who own the rights.

Sidhe just accepted the job like any other company would... in a climate where money is tight in game development they would be absolutely insane to turn down a contract like this.

if you want to blame anyone here you should blame the idiots at HES who keep going back to Sidhe to develop there games.

HES should give up the rights to EA...

ive never understood why Sidhe took all the wrap here... if Maddern or Fifa turn out a stinker of a title the hate usually falls on EA... no one gives a rats about Tibourn or EA Canada.

it was probably Mario's mistake by making contact with the fans while it was being made.

Cool,

Ill buy it for RL's sake, game 1 was ok, game 2 was a big disapointment, lets hope game 3 has some gameplay that is playable, new screens look like it is at least different to the last one in gameplay.

I dont know too much about these things, but isnt it the case that once a game is created, subsequent releases are all about building on whats already there?

If thats the case, shouldnt most of the work already be done and all they have to do is fix bugs and improve on areas that didnt really work last time around?

Wont most of the development time be spent on improving what is already there?

it depends on how good the previous engine is...

if youve got a good base then you can just make modifications for a couple of years... but if it sucks thi big ones then they need to do a redo...

Dont have a Wii, but if they make a PS3 or 360 version i will buy it for sure.

Its not without its faults, but as long as they make improvements each time, i will buy and support it, and also enjoy it.

Not sure if i will buy a Wii just to play it, but i may.

I appreciate the fact i get to play a League game, no matter how many flaws.

This is the bottom line really isnt it.

Us league fans have been given so few options when it comes to playing a console/PC game dedicated to RL that we will take any crap that comes along and love it despite how very sub par the game is compared to other sports based games.

The sad fact is, if it comes out on the 360 then I would buy it simply because a crap RL game is better than no RL game at all

lol, DJ Racing - my mate is a massive V8 fan and was hanging out for this game like no other before it.

He picked it up on release day and couldn't even finish a lap of Bathurst before giving up on it, he tried again a few times but it was just sooooo bad he coudn't stomach it.

F**k these jerkoffs. (The game designers, not you guys)

I hate the fact that some of you are actually going to buy a new console just to play this game. The loyalty to the game is commendable - but because of that, they'll just be lazy again and churn out another absolute turd knowing full well that people will buy it.

Makes me sick.

catch 22. if people don't buy it, then there is no market for the game and more never get produced in the first place.

I refuse to support a company with such a poor attitude to their customers.

How many of the bugs from either game have been fixed?

If our level of support concerns you then don't buy RL2 because it is unlikely to change.

That is exactly what Mario told me when I voiced some concerns that there were no real fixes for the bugs in the first game.
