Just another suggestion on the rep selections. They should rank the players based on their preferred positions. So you get the top 17 with a hooker/half, 1 front row, 1 backrow and one forward of any type. The other selections should be the next best 3 backs, halves/hookers, front row and backrow (total of 29 players and the last spot goes to the next player in any position.

Might be for another game but players should have a percentage likelihood to play in each of the positions as well. So a winger will not get selected in the front row but may play in the centres etc.

guess i didnt give this game its dues, been playing it a few times over the weekend and it goes alright, besides the little nuances i pointed out earlier.

one thing that does piss me off to no end is after you've put someone through the gap to streak away, draw the fullback and pass to score - all you see from the resulting replay is the last 5 yards before the ball is put down. ffs every other sports game has a manual replay function, rugby challenge doesn't but at least it shows more than 5 seconds of footage.

Has anybody else found simulating games in career leads to injuries/suspensions?

I was coming up to the finals, in no real threat of dropping out of the top four, so i simmed my last four or five games. Ended up with five-six injuries and three or four suspensions after zero for the first 20 or so rounds - a couple of one weekers but still pretty irritating.

^then dont sim? injuries and suspensions are quite common in real life and imo arent frequent enough when you play

They're too frequent when you simulate games though, teams don't have at least one player get injured or suspended and have to miss their next game (at the very least) every week.

Yeah I am still crossing my fingers for a patch. I think the game has had a succesful first week of sales also and is heavily backed by cashed up sponsors. Id pay $10 towards patching it if it means even better gameplay!

Oh and X on the PS3 controls is try or grubber (i know square also scores, but sometimes you just hit the x button without thinking just before you cross and it grubbers instead! Learning the hard way there ;)

People like you are the reason why the gaming industry is f**ked.

Yah, the injuries when you Sim are ludicrous. Playing the first 10 rounds fine, but then sim against 16th, Hoffman out 7 weeks, Lowrie suspended for grade 5 kicking, out for about 5 weeks, and waqa out for 2 weeks. The next week Ryles and Bromwich out for 2 weeks. That's insanity, would hate to see the extreme setting for injuries.

The injuries aren't that bad, teams like Warriors and tigers sustained many injuries over the year so it's not out of the realms of possibility.

Not disagreeing that it's certainly possible, just annoying I can't sim a game without two or three players being gone but I can play 5 months without losing one.

You get the badge for beating a Big Ant employee or beating someone that did - hopefully it wasn't one of my guys calling you a lagger :)

So got my butt kicked in my first run. On the bright side I've made the CCBears, WA Reds and CQLD. Wasn't hard considering the jerseys and logos are there already haha. Btw strange that they have TIo stadium (Darwin) but not Browne Park (rocky).

Bloody heighno dived over the dead ball line the other night, I wish you could change the controls, I play a lot of madden and it would be really helpful of diving tackle was square. Interceptions are annoying, they could at least drop the ball every now and then, and yes, fullbacks super speed to get to the ball.. I rarely ever ground a punt. Getting better at it though, you do seem to have to play to a game plan.

I simmed the trial matches, both Carney & Gallen were injured - 2 weeks each
After the second game Ross got injured - 3 weeks.
Third game Carney out for 3 more weeks.
Seventh game I just lost Toopoo for 3 weeks.

Injuries really dont mean much, especially when you can replace your Australian front row with Barba & Merritt & not notice a difference.
Individual excellence of particular players are lacking. Some teams struggle when they lose a particular player, in this game it doesnt matter, replace them with a brick & it will still play the same.
Btw...did the tactic to do a kick early, on the fourth tackle...the player drops back, my dummy half passes it to him & BAM!! My first 40/20 with Sam tagataese?!?! WTF??
Why was he back there instead of my playmaker??

Another example of anyone can play in any position & do everything.

Gotta say NZwarriorsfan is 100% spot on, broadcast view is the best way to play this game.

Finally started seeing angles and lines and options to pass to.
