NRL_Bulldogs NRL Bulldogs:
Captain Andrew Ryan talks about what it's like to play in front of big crowds htt p://goo.gl/bTBrg #DogsvDragons #BU11DOGS
You just learn that now? Like the AFL the hashtags should come directly from the official NRL twitter, that way every fan would know, not just the specific teams fans. Then it gets trending and it brings in neutrals. The way they're doing it now is only good for each teams rusted on fans.Clubs are f**king idiots, no wonder nothing trends.
They should be collectively organising this to maximise exposure. Do they even know how this shit works.
No-one will see #bu11dogs unless they search that exactly (but everyone who knows as the hashtag bu11dogs would already be following them). At least if they made it #bulldogs if someone was searching for the AFL or any other teams or bulldogs topics they would see the NRL bulldogs...
Tonights should be:
#nrlsgidogs
Twitter itself is a fantastic medium for those who want news quickly and succinctly (provided you follow the right people).Twitter a mess? More and more I find myself preferring it to any other social media. Up to the minute news reports, sports results. Has been my primary news and media source for the Arab Spring. The league unlimited account is actually well managed and active, and my team has an unofficial imposter who has decent game updates. Sure, I occasionally hear about someone's awesome sandwich, but its limited to 140 characters and is preferable to the self indulgent wank of some f**king idiots I know on facebook. Twitter is social media for grown ups.
In regards to hashtags, last year it was #NRL2010 for all games. Usually I would see team names replaced by hashtags as well. For example, Try to Coote for the #panthers with kick to come #NRL2010.
No reason why the same can't be used this year. #NRL2011

What I've noticed about the NRL official twitter is that it often is just a news service with little or no fan interaction or general tweeting.
