Reasonably successful night with this little project. #NRLmelcan trended Australia wide in the early part of the night, #NRLsouwes didn't reach the top 10 but was trending in Sydney, Brisbane and Australia throughout the night as well. #NRLcowpar didn't have much being the delayed game though.

We'll persist with this via our LU twitter - we've managed to get a number of major players (Tele, MMM, Canb Times, RLW to name a few) using these tags and it can only get better from here.

As discussed it would be awesome if the NRL established these tags ahead of the weekend but in the meantime it looks like it's up to us and the fans to get it going.

I am liking twitter tbh. Only started playing with it about 10 days ago but find myself watching it more and more. Was a bit stand offish at first, my first personal message was from Ashley Harrison and I like it because I can follow without posting which suits me. Unlike Facebook which is filled with cousins and HS friends, twitter is more players, news and guys like Will Ferrell who is hilarious.

Don't start your post with @buzzrothfield. If a post starts with an @ only th person its directed at will see it on their feed, if its moved to later in the post he'll still get it and everyone will see it.

Eg:

How massive a dickhead is @buzzrothfield?

OR

Hey, @buzzrothfield, how bout you eat my arse?

Even putting a full stop before the @ will do it:

.@buzzrothfield shut up. Dickhead.

#NRLmelcan is currently getting a good run, some of the big media are starting to use it (at our suggestion). It won't take much to get this style of tag trending around Australia if we get serious about using it.

Wow! Well done Timmah! Didn't get a chance to even watch the match last night.
