Sorry I actually meant to say NRL club Facebook fan pages as I know there's a cross over audience and it might help the message/standard format get passed along.

NKO11 was right. It won't take long for this to usurp AFL tags once it catches on.

At the moment a new tweet is posted every 10-20 seconds. If it catches on with everyone and brings in some new-ens we should see a new tweet every 1-5 seconds which would be great!

Earlier in the weekend we badgered some big outlets - including Tele Sport and LeagueWeek, to start using it.

TAB Sportsbet was great, they joined in of their own initiative.

I've sent a couple of things to the Roast guys previously and they always seem to respond whether or not they like the idea. It's always better to get someone who loves the game and works for the network to push your agenda rather than convince some random.

Say something like "Look we're Rugby League fans on League Unlimited and we noticed that the NRL don't promote the game properly on Twitter. Here's the list of hashtags we came up with and because of that the Manly-Titans game became the number one trending topic in Australia. Will you help us by promoting the Tags on the Footy Shows etc every week and help get the NRL to catch on?"

Don't forget to tag #NRL and the other main Rugby League twitter accounts as well so people catch on.

Until it get up and running full steam it's probably worthwhile to do it again on the game days as well as a reminder for the matches for that particular day.

I have absolutely no idea how to use Twitter. At all.

Im sure im the last person in Australia to sign up to this fangdangle whatsamajig and ive decided that its strange and confusing and i feel like i should be yelling at no good teenagers for it.

My initial thoughts on twitter was that it was a waste of time. It was like sending SMS to complete strangers. Unless you are into Ashton Kucher or Jusin Bieber, this isn't for you.

After using it for a few weeks, I can definitely see its uses. However, I doubt I will be bothering to try typing (or even reading) something while watching the footy!
