Well before the Penrith fiasco, in which Fein didn't play especially bad but was just the same, less than NSW Cup standard halfback, Drinkwater was MOM in the NSW Cup game. To still not get a chance in the top grade must really knock his confidence about.

Williams was probably our best player in both finals games for us last year. He was easily our best behind a well beaten pack against Souths.

So based on that he's atleast shown an ability to rise in big games.

Disappointed to see him leave the club but with Campese fit he doesnt really fit anywhere in the side. Furner is never going to drop McCrone for him and Milford is a lot better off the bench.

Williams is a terrible defender and I mean terrible. He has been pretty mediocre this year and has been kept out of first grade by McCrone.

He's also a confidence player like Soward. Seems like a good bloke but won't be missed in Canberra.

I don't think any Raiders fans have ever disputed him being a fantastic player. The problem is that through constant injury and disciplinary issues we just weren't getting value for money out of him and his behaviour was starting to rub off on others like Ferguson. The leadership group within the team also wanted him gone, so it was a pretty toxic environment.
