Rumour Simona gone for 2014

If Marshall decided to leave, Moltzen could play 5/8 until Moses is ready for the NRL. His salary would be considerably less than Marshall's.

Parramatta, ESL??? Tauber is his manager so why not union?

Call me cynical but I think Tauber rings up union clubs/ceos and tries to make out the players are in high demand in an attempt to drive up the contract price. I'm not so sure that this is going to keep working for him. Moltzen is injured and might end up in State cup. I can't see too many clubs going out of there way to get him.

He can probably get a contract but I don't know for how much money.

If the Tigers secure this, I will be impressed. It is a step in the right direction in terms of retention. Even if Ayshford somehow develops into one of the best centres in the game at Cronulla I will be happy knowing that we stuck by our young up and coming talent

Well written.

As much as I dislike Moltzen as a footballer, this is a decent suggestion and is his natural position IMO.

Still, I'd play Anasta at 6 for next season if Marshall was to go.

Agree, this is the best solution for us. And I don't think you will have to worry about Ayshford. He is a solid player but nothing more.

Just read this option may no longer be possible. There may be a few moves at the end of the season. If true, Potter is not only fearless but certainly has his own ideas about the make up of his team. I can't fault his strength of character.

I'm not as high on Simona as some on here, but I'd definitely take him ahead of Ayshford if we could move the latter on.
Would be a great bit of work by the back office.

Why don't we cut Reddy, Utai, Thompson, Anasta, Blair, Iosefa, Moltzen and Tuqiri to free up cash?

Seems like a poor excuse to get rid of Ayshford.

To cut any player, you need a willing buyer.

Reddy, Utai and Tuqiri are all off contract at the end of this year and won't be re-signed.

I'd be very surprised if we went after Simona, only to be tossed Ayshford for probably around the same coin. Couldn't see Flanno doing that.

Certainly agree with your analysis madunit, why don't they cut some of those blokes to free up the cash.

Is it an issue of how much they rate him vs what theyll pay him?

It's an issue of the kid wanting to play first grade.

If your club says he is he will stay. Simples.

Ayshford is a good player but he lacks speed and our team needs speed desperately.

Really prefer to keep Ayshford, given how light we are in the second row, but if he's got a better offer to play centre at another club, then I was him all the best as he's been a great servant to the club.

I'm sorry, but if there is any team in the comp that needs speed, it would be the sharks back-line haha.

Ayshford is a strange one, came onto the scene and really impressive. But his form has taken a bit of a drop. Seems to be a big confidence player. Also a bit of an arm grabber in defense.

I had big wraps on Ayshford early on seems to have plateaued though.

Definitely agree with madunit but, given the players you guys have offcontract - surely you can afford Simona?

Wouldn't surprise me for the sharks to pay overs for a back though. Given our dire need for one.

My guess is that we have other players in our sights. It seems like we are finally getting our shit together so I wouldn't be surprised to see a quality backrower being signed
