I mentioned Capewell and Billy Burns as replacements for Martin or Kikau. If one moves into the middle we need a new starting edge forward and a new bench edge forward. Billy f**king Burns might make a huge jump this offseason, he is a high potential guy. The fact you think it is so laughable is ridiculous.

FWIW, I don't think he's a "gun" either, I was just pointing out that FG games ONLY is a really one dimensional way to look at it, and that lower grades CAN be used to a degree to judge a player.

That is the big unknown with lower grades now. How these guys improve

Um, we missed the 8 in 2019. So if we missed them again that’s not *going backwards*. I don’t ever remember suggesting we’d fall to the bottom of the table.

What I think is laughable is proposing moving the best second rower in the comp, and then replacing him with someone like Billy Burns. You don’t severely weaken one position to improve another. Kikau was a lynchpin of our attack on the left, we used him brilliantly as a decoy this year.

FG games is the only way to define someone as a gun in FG. Using Franklin’s logic we could define Caleb Aekins as a gun fullback, but that’d be pretty stupid.

I dont get your obsession with Burns replacing Kikau, he would never jump capewell in the order for one thing and secondly he issues have been discipline for the most part, he has flashed plenty of potential in particular in the area of creating points, something he has done all through the lower grades.

I do agree on the rotation, just probably not as emphatically as you do. We'll have to wait and see what the team looks like once all of the moving parts have settled I suppose.

Well, I think it’d be crazy to move the best second rower. The extra room out wide and his size makes him so dangerous out there. Why change a winning formula?

Because a winning formula doesnt always stay a winning formula and we dont lose much if anything by trying it. If it doesnt work you put him back on the edge. He is a huge man, he belongs in the middle where he can use that size to the best effect. Our rotation will weaken without Terevano fullstop.
But i can see Kikau or Yeo moving to prop at some stage in the next few years, Yeo has been superb, and locks these day have really been used as an extra middle, Kiks would be more damaging in the middle, but also drift across to the edge anytime he wants as a lock foward, seriously the mind boggles by having a giant behemoth only stuck on one edge, we have a leaner, taller, stronger tamololo-esk GUN, and we waste him on an edge as a decoy, worked this year, won't forever..
Martin can do prop, lock, edge, but i like him on nathans edge, just a no nonsense, tough, evil, and striking presence near our player maker, what he did to Moylan last year would make all of you cry, (well in laughter) he is a gun in our top17, you cannot have us winning games without his attack dog mentality out there.
Those who've said we are light on 2nd row depth, are absolutely stupid, coz we have Ivan the terrible coaching us, and Ivan LOVES 2ndRowers, he'll find another Capewell like depth backrower, and Burns is no Kikau but has covered his spot in his absence a few times off the bench.
I don't like that we lost Tetevano, but i get it, he would always have been moved on as soon as Leniu was in need of a top17spot, plus money would help secure Yeo, Luai, Critta too, i reckon until Mansour moves, we are short on cap space, plus not knowing the exact Salary Cap is keeping us from locking up everyone we want to, if you listen to the News Limited Journos, like Buzz, Hoops, Kent etc take it with a grain of salt, they'll just crap on for the drama, i don't believe critta is getting 750, but 650 with add ons later is more like it, as long as we can afford Edwards at Fullback im ok with a Critta heavy price tag

You really think that attacking edge is going to be a big drop off? Shit they might score more tries and defensively it will be harder to isolate Luai with Capewell next to him. Meanwhile Fish Yeo Kikau with Leniu and Leota off the bench is comfortable the best middle rotation in the game IMO.
