Eisenthuth will be an option or they will need to go to the Market for someone a bit of size as Leota and Leniu are same shape and size which makes it easier for the defence to tackle

Burgess used to play both sides with a 13 on. Taulomolo does too so it can be done

We most certainly will go to market but depending style they want to play as to where we go 1st

Easily gets gassed but can play 80 minutes lol f**k off

He averaged 65 mins in the regular season, and that’s on an edge. Playing in the middle is a totally different story. He’s a 120kg ffs, he’s not going to be playing like a mobile lock.

And btw, his fitness is one of the reasons the Panthers moved him from prop to second row, if you knew as much about footy as you claim you wouldn’t need that pointed out to you.

Of course it can be done, no one is disputing locks can play both sides of the field, but Kikau is nowhere near the fitness of Sam Burgess.

Exactly. He is isolated down one corridor right now. In the middle he will see a lot more ball when he is on and he will be dominating the middle defensively. He would cause all kinds of havoc in the middle which pulls the defensive line in leaving gaps on the edges.

Realistically he was most effective this year being used as a decoy, he had his moments with the ball no doubt but we looked best when we were using him as a decoy. Its hard to stop but it is also predictable. If teams are disciplined and read it right they shut us down. In the middle he can just throw himself into it physically and has much more chances to dominate the other teams biggest guys. If our set plays arent working he will still be getting plenty of chances to run at retreating defensive lines.
I think there's a lot of penrith fans who dont like to see change, Isiah Yeo was in the 2nd row, moved to lock this year, outstanding!, JFH was also a 2nd rower, then lock, now the premier prop again outstanding, Martin and Kikau can change they are the best 2nd rowers we got, but we need props now, and more mobile, agile ones that can play longer minutes

Change is fine when it’s necessary, I don’t like seeing change to a winning formula is all.

in fact I was calling for Yeo to move from second row to lock, it was clear he’d lost the agility to play out wider.

No but he would be on par with Taumololo. Lock might be a push but Ivan generally likes a small lock. With the new rules in if we are going a small lock. Like Souths, Roosters and Storm use. Then we are fine for props if Yeo pushes forward.

So I want to see the whole squad. Then want to get a look at the new playing style

We have a top 4 top side. If we are a top 4 squad is still to be decided

Cowboys are a perfect example of a side that declined due to not evolving.

No Barrett means we already would made some adjustments

I doubt it. JT regularly runs for 200+ meters at lock.

Moving Kikau to lock doesn’t jive with going small either. If we’re going small then May is the guy for lock, in which case Kikau would stay on an edge as you wouldn’t move both Yeo and Kikau to the middle.

He played 80 5 or 6 times including the gf. Saying he gets gassed easily is complete horseshit. And yes he absolutely could play like a mobile lock, have you ever seen him play? You are just talking out of your ass.

He was always a second rower, he played games in the centres in the 20s.

Penriths success comes from the wingers taking fast hit ups and damaging runs.
I'd be tempted to have Staines slot into fullback and Edwards into the centre position. Dylan would make a good centre. If Naden can play he makes a perfect winger. Staines doesn't seem to be the type of winger who will make the hard yards. Dylan doesn't have the ball playing skills to be a great no 1.

If you had Too and Naden on the wing and both take a hit up just every set or lets say along with Staines at Fullback that leaves only 3 more hit ups.
That's spread across the odd dart from hooker. Two strong centres. And it is why you can then get away with more of a mobile smaller defensive style pack.
Nathan's strength is his kicking game. A mobile fit and fast pack would work well over your standard bigger more powerful type. Just grind teams out of the game. A good kick and chase.

Kikau as a mobile lock is the funniest shit I’ve ever read on these boards. You’re completely out of your mind.

And he was not always a second rower, your knowledge is pathetic. He played prop for the Cowboys after playing centres in Rugby. He was named NYC prop of the year in 2015 ffs.

No Barrett means we need more help in attack, and Kikau can do more in attack on the edge.

And Kenny or May at lock helps even more which is why I will wait and see how we look overall.

Ciraldo is now Attack coach. He had the majority of this side attacking pretty well in lower grades. So we will be right up there again this year

Not at full strength but we are going to need more then Yeo, Fish, Leinu and Leota at prop. If moving Kikau to prop helps short term then should do it

Up there with people thinking NSW and Australian halfback is a 9?
