Goodall had plenty of chances to prove himself in first grade.

Young up and comers like Ryan Morgan deserve a chance with everything they have shown in the top grade.

You need to prove yourself at training and in the lower grades before you 'deserve a chance' in first grade.

I saw David Penna score like 5 tries in Presidents Cup and then a few more in reggies or FG.

Vs Souths @ SFS.

Robert Foster scored seven tries in a match for Parramatta East Primary School against Parramatta Central in 1966. He was playing five-eight and I played half-back. I'd like to think I made a great contribution to his performance on the day. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.

Brad Arthur has agreed to a new two-year extension at the Eels

Brad Arthur finally agreed to a new two-year contract extension at the Parramatta Eels — but not before a last minute bombshell linking him to the vacant Newcastle Knights job.

The Daily Telegraph can reveal that while Arthur and his manager Chris Orr were contemplating legal action against the Eels over a reneged agreement, a call was made to the Knights by a third party.

In the discussion it was mentioned champion five-eighth Kieran Foran could follow Arthur to Newcastle because he has an escape clause in his Eels contract if the coach goes elsewhere.

The Knights have since settled on their new coach and are expected to announce the appointment of former Dragons and UK Super League winning coach Nathan Brown in the next 48 hours.

Arthur’s decision to stay ends weeks of bickering and legal threats over his contract because the Eels board refused to honour the lucrative deal he originally agreed to with departed CEO Scott Seward.

“I’ve started something at Parra and I want to see it through as long as everything works out,” Arthur said last night. “They’ve known all along I’m loyal to the fans, my staff, the players and the club.”

“I’ve started something at Parra and I want to see it through as long as everything works out,” Arthur said last night. “They’ve known all along I’m loyal to the fans, my staff, the players and the club.”

All along Souths chairman Nick Pappas has been kept in the dark and even went on social media to slam reports the Knights were chasing his coach.

Maguire addressed the media, declaring: “I love this club and I’m staying.
“All those sorts of things (Knights speculation) have come out of rumour and talk and chat and for me we are only focused around this Friday (against the Sydney Roosters).”

“I want to be able to build a legacy in what I am doing.”
With Maguire confirming he’s staying, Arthur agreeing to terms and Brown set to be named Knights coach, another tumultuous of coaching sackings and changes appears all but settled.

The approach to the Knights on Arthur’s behalf was made in case his deal fell through at Parramatta.

“There were some disagreements behind closed doors,” said an Eels official.

“We were aware of the Knights phone all but were always hopeful the issues would be solved.”

Can he still play centre ?

He can. Lawrence would be a risk as both he and Taka would be our starting centres and as we know both are quite injury prone. They share more in common than their position, both are Jason Taylor rejects. Lawrence has been offered to us if we can offload Hopoate without being stung with the salary cap. Our coach only wants to give him one year with an option but Lawrence wants more or he is going to the UK. The Tigers are willing to pay a part of Lawrence's contract for 2016. He is off contract in 2017.

My source is impeccable.

If we could sign Lawrence and keep Davis it wouldnt be to bad.

good to see any grievance regarding BA's contract was smoothed over and he has re-signed. He wasn't off contract this season though, so it's really only an upgrade. We have locked him up, he was already 'locked up'.

Proszenko has a quote from Gavin Orr. Surprise, surprise.

Believe that BA signed. Ignore the rest of the bullshit.

Parramatta has avoided potential legal action after Brad Arthur agreed to a revised contract to coach the side until the end of 2017.
Fairfax Media revealed Arthur's management was considering suing the Eels after officials allegedly reneged on a signed contract extending and upgrading the tenure of their client.
The impasse occurred after Eels chairman Steve Sharp allegedly shook hands on an agreement with Arthur last October to upgrade his existing base contract of $370,000 to one that averaged out to about $500,000 a season between 2015-17.
Former CEO Scott Seward, aware of the the club's verbal commitment, then produced a contract to that effect which extended him out until 2019.
The club announced it had extended the contract of Arthur until 2017 in November, but to terms less lucrative than those originally agreed to with Sharp, sparking fears of legal action.
The parties have been back at the negotiating table since the situation became public last week and agreed to terms on Tuesday.
Arthur was keen to sort out the issue before the end of the season and was prepared to compromise to ensure there weren't more negative headlines for the club.
While the contract hasn't officially been signed, it's understood Arthur has agreed to a new deal which is still about $150,000 short of what was originally promised.
The paperwork is expected to be completed as soon as Thursday, which would lead to an official announcement from the club.
Arthur's manager, Chris Orr, said he was relieved the matter was finally put to rest.
"Although it's been somewhat trying, I'm glad for the club and my client's sake that the matter has been resolved," Orr said.
"Out of all of this, it highlights Brad's commitment to the club, the players and the fans."
Arthur was head-hunted by Manly earlier this year on a deal worth $1 million per season.
However, he felt a loyalty to his players and didn't use the Sea Eagles approach as leverage at the bargaining table.
The development will also ease concerns that star playmaker Kieran Foran won't make the switch from Manly, as he has a get-out clause in his contract should Arthur move on.
Parramatta declined to comment on Wednesday night.
There is likely to be more news on the coaching front, with Newcastle likely to announce its new head coach this week.
Former Dragons coach Nathan Brown is the favourite for the job, although Garth Brennan has also made a strong case after a strong defence of his NSW Cup premiership with Penrith.

I'm with ya on that... Along with Dropmough, Lawrence has some of the worst hands in the comp. our completion rate would be around 30% with those 2 in the same team. Might as well get Ben Pomeroy to come back from ESL and join in the fun!

Only way to top that would be to bring Ben Smith back out of retirement and make Peni Terepo halfback

Chris Lawerence??? Really??? The guy was a gun 5 years ago but is a shadow of his former self. He has been plodding it up in the back row all season because he has lost all his speed.

Replace Hoppa with an even slower less skilled version
