While I don't disagree with anything you have said above I would just like to add my biggest concern last year was the lack of structure in the club. Not the on field team or game structure but the recruitment, youth identification, development and skill structures that have fallen apart since Smith left. They were non existent throughout all grades with people in each of those areas doing their own thing independently and not talking to each other and there were no plans in place to rebuild them.
While I don't dispute anything you have said I am at least happy that those backroom structures are now back in place and working and believe they will flow through to on field performances. That and the acquisition of a genuine young halfback that can run the team and take a lot of pressure off Hayne allowing him to be less predictable along with adding Poore, Reni, Tonga and Roberts will make a big difference next year.
That is just my opinion and accept that many disagree but regardless I have been through a lot over the last 53 years of following this mob, including consecutive wooden spoons, and I do feel optimistic about the next few years. Mainly because it is being built from the ground up and not airy fairy crap as has been the case for the last 5 years or so. I am fed up with "Pizza nights" at Hindy's like we've had every f**king year for God knows how long and want to see a more solid foundation and support structure in place. But that's just my opinion.
No one can guarantee the future so no one can know how it will unfold over the next 2 years. The only certainty over that time is that both the board and coach are guaranteed that tenure regardless of whether anyone likes it or not we all have to accept it cause nothing is going to change that.
And that's the most I've ever been bothered to write so hope you at least appreciate the effort Korny
Tautai ran 135m yesterday in his 38 mins stint. Only bettered by Luke Douglas who played 64 mins. Didn't watch the game, but the stats suggest he was most effective forward on the ground.

I don't see why people are so down on our recruitment. You don't get to pick and choose who you want. We wanted a good half, the best ones were Lockyer, Gidley (both of whom were 0% chance of changing clubs), Sandow (who we got), then maybe Graham & Anasta (both of who are still available I believe). In terms of age, we got the youngest. It'll be a matter of guidance and training to see if we got the right man.I do appreciate the reply
I agree with most of what you have said except for our recruitment for next year, bar Sandow, none of them excite me and we need more.
I can see they are trying to build and that is positive but the performances as a team have been uninspiring and because recruitment has also been the same, I just can't hold any hope for next year!
The thought of having to wait until 2013 is depressing......

Wasn't Daniel Anderson assured by the Board that he was safe?.
How can you assume Kearney is safe, especially if the team finishes as wooden spooner this year and next?..Just asking!
Were there specific quotes from the board members about Anderson having a secure job around the time he was sacked? If not, then your claims are baseless.
I understand how you feel mate but take heart from the way our NYC team has improved over the season. Not only have we blooded some very good juniors in top grade this year but we have some excellent ones coming through and a lot of time is being devoted to their development.I do appreciate the reply

No need for you to be concerned about our coach Pete yours is facing far greater problems.Wasn't Daniel Anderson assured by the Board that he was safe?.

Fully agree with you, it's better to be selective and buy only top talent, there are no players on the market now who I believe to be a "must have". I'd rather build selectively and be in a strong position to get the ones you really need. I would NOT want to emulate the dogs last year by going on a shooping spree and buying whoever is available only to find yourself with a full cap and in no better position.I don't see why people are so down on our recruitment. In terms of age, we got the youngest. It'll be a matter of guidance and training to see if we got the right man. As for Roberts, Tonga, Paulo, Maitua and Tautai, I highly doubt any of them are on massive deals (Tautai supposedly won't even be in the top 25), perhaps Roberts is just on 6 figures, the others would rely on incentives to bring them up. After them, considering our needs, the ones we missed out on aren't so dire. Idris is fast turning into a 2nd rower, Myles is a 2nd rower, as is Laffranchi, 2nd row isn't somewhere we urgently need help. Fifita's a good young prop who may have been worthwhile chasing, but other than that the rest of the real talent available re-signed with their current clubs which probably means they were never really looking to move on. Of the remaining available talent, only Yow Yeh, Graham, Tony Williams, Willie Tonga & Luke hold any real excitement for me (even then none of them are blockbusters). So all in all, I respect our recruitment so far. Even with all the space available and supposed positional emergencies, we haven't panicked and thrown millions at rubbish players. And we're still in position to pick up a few genuine top 17 players

So if we are going poorly next year are we going to just go and say "yeah but it's ok we have a terrible roster" like a lot of people are doing this year?
It's ridiculous to argue hypotheticals, I can just as easily askif we are leading the comp next year are you just going to say "yeah but it's only temporary next year will be bad again".
Look, I get it Eels Dude, you're a negative person and everything is doomed to fail, fine that is your perogative. But is it ok with you if I remain positive and like what I see for the future, I don't want to wallow in doom and gloom if that's ok.
Please don't argue as neither you or I can tell the future so it just comes down to opinion, yours is always negative and mine is mostly positive, and no amount of ranting is going to change that, we'll just have to wait and see who is right.
