Club pays players incrementally more each year of the contract so the bulk of the deal is paid in the later years which frees up cap space on the early years.

Wighton is best mates with Latrell and is a good strong ball runner and average half. It makes some sense.

He is getting Crichton money as a 31 year old. For his age he is overs

So assuming Souths need to lose someone in 2024 to accommodate Wighton, Campbell Graham and Koloamatangi seem the most obvious targets. Both would be in that "mid range" Blade suggested we might be able to afford. Both immediately cover gaps in the squad. Both not contracted past 2024. Hard to say, but seems like the kind of situation where you might be able to get some freight paid. Something to think about.

Desperation. We mostly think of bottom 8 teams like that but south's keep hitting the wall in finals. They are as Desperate as any bottom 8 team to step up.

Correct, but it needs to be substantially higher blackened, apparently Jack's is not going up much.

Yes and no. They will stop anything that's too large but there's wiggle room.

Kolo is the obvious pick. I'd rather invest in a backrower than an outside back.

But I think he might be a shot at Origin this year. Same with Campbell Graham actually. That is going to change their value.

Souths can backend their deals as they'll get a cap exemption on the payout halfway through on medical retirement ala Burgess and GI.

Over thirty Simple Jack and Cody Walker are prime candidates to not play out the full length of their deals.

Irony is it is straight out of the Roosters playbook. Similar to Jack and Cody, there is a concussion-related medical retirement in Teddy’s future as well.
