Rumoured & Confirmed Signings - Part 5

He probably never wanted to leave in the first place, but salary cap being what it is, he chose to move on. Certainly not Kikau.

There were suggestions it may have been Billy Burns but he has had a strong back end of the season and if the reports are correct the incoming coach for the Dragons wants to keep him.
He left for more money. Both Burton and Kikau, should have stayed

Both Burton and Kikau got long term deals at the top of their position group wage wise.

Winning premierships is nice and all but does it pay off the mortgage(s)?
Api also left for a longer deal. Dyl is trying to get a longer deal (3 years instead of 4).

And ruin their careers? Burton in particular would have been better served in staying. He would have learnt a lot from Cleary and Luai.
No. Burton turned down good money from the Dogs, they then came back with silly money and the man set himself up for life. He's then gone on the play for NSW and Australia. His career will work out just fine.

Kikau is oldish for his position and would have been stupid to not take the money

Especially when he is supporting his extended family in Fiji. Helping put his neices and nephews through schools too.
