You say that as if defending in the middle requires no thought.

An NRL team defends in a system, everyone has something to think about and decisions to make.

To say that a player who has played his career defending and attacking on edge, would find it easier in the middle is silly.

He would find it physically way harder and he would have completely different things to think about.

Middles don’t just tackle big boppers running straight at them. They have to make just as many defensive decisions as anyone else.
