That is why as discussed I think Curran or Kiks moves to the middle.

They signed a stack of 14's which is the easiest position to develop. Just dumb but it is glorious seeing the shit teams do the same over and over

Gus is obsessed with 'natural footballers'. That's all well and good but in this era specialist roles are more important.

Having a natural footballer or two in a side is okay, but the Bulldogs feel a little like a team/roster with too many Chiefs, not enough Indians.

No wonder Gus was at his peak pre salary cap. These days you need to balance the squad

Not even close. Maximising wealth during your short career; smart move.

Remember he isn’t a fan; this is his life.
With a good management team, financial planning the money Crichton and Luai are earning sets them up for life.

Balanced portfolio around real estate, investments and potentially buying into a business or setting one up they are in a very healthy position.

Do you have some Penrith News to talk about?

The Mole: Panthers 'struggling' to keep another grand final star as salary cap bites premiers

The Panthers are in danger of losing yet another of their grand final stars with talented backrower Luke Garner in hot demand from rival clubs and Super League.

The 28-year-old edge forward comes off contract at the end of 2024 and the Panthers are struggling to make him a competitive offer due to salary cap issues.

"Penrith would love to keep him and Luke wants to stay but the salary cap is what it is," Garner's manager Tas Bartlett told WWOS.
"Ivan (Cleary) gave him his top grade debut at the Tigers a few years ago and is a fan of the way he plays.

"Luke has had interest both here and in England but will wait and see what happens."
After five seasons with the Tigers, Garner joined the Panthers last year and played 12 games - including the grand final off the bench.

In doing so, he became only the third player in the modern era to go from wooden spooner to premiership winner in consecutive seasons, after Brenko Lee (2019-2020) and Harvey Howard (1999-2000).

ANOTHER PANTHER SOUNDED OUT

Further alarm bells rang at Penrith before Christmas when another of their back row brigade, Zac Hosking, was spotted touring Canberra's facilities in the ACT.

Like Garner, Hosking comes off contract at the end of 2024 and he also impressed in his maiden season at the Panthers last year after making the move from Brisbane.

Rumours quickly began that Hosking is set for an immediate move to the Raiders but Ricky Stuart set the record straight for Wide World of Sports.
"He was just having a look around but there is no suggestion he will be here in 2024," Stuart said.

"We are talking to him about 2025 and showed him around - nothing more."

hosking, garner both likely to leave, sorro is 30 now. We need to blood one or two of the young backrowers this year ideally a game or two for Geyer/Lisati. Hassett will get plenty out of a year in reserve grade, i think he still needs time to physically develop before getting a crack.

I think it is make or break for Geyer. His name can't be holding a spot forever.

Presser done. Bit ridiculous but if the game wants to be like NFL this will become the norm even.

When does training return?
