Wherever the resistance to KP moving to the 6 is coming from within the club, then they better have a cracking plan for the halves. Johns is staking his reputation attempting to make Brooks into a dominant half. If he fails he can kindly go back to commentary and stay away from coaching here forever.

This reads as a fan fiction.
Where has this rolling pack been?
Are they going to be rolling on the back of an undersized 1 in French of Hodgson getting driven back 10m on kick returns?

In reality though, an actual player who did the reverse, Munster, said how much easier it was at fullback without the defensive work and responsibilities.

He's obviously a decent enough fullback for Billy Slater of all people to want to pick him there.
I'm not a fan of KP having to make 30 tackles (and likely missing 5) every week. He's shown he can be a class 1, but we're so fixated on the fact he isn't lifting a bottom 3 roster single handedly.

Maybe he just isn't the kind of player who can put a team on his back and carry his squad on his own.
Personally, I think he works best as a 2nd fiddle which is a concern when we've broken the bank to keep him.
he might work best as a second fiddle, but the problem is we don't have a first fiddle, hence the idea of moving him into the 6.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got

So the solution is to play our "best" player... Out of his best position.. While asking him to make 500+ more tackles per year? Nothing about it makes sense. The difference is now we won't have a good 1 OR 6.

that's assuming his best position is fullback. We all watch him play and he is a great player, but there are some serious areas of concern in his fullback play.

- As has been mentioned on here previously, he is found out of position way too much, even happens in origin,
- He doesn't run the ball back either and when he does run the ball back, the opposition tries to take his head off, which is a separate topic.
- He looks best when setting up players outside him on the left, when he is playing like a 5/8, hence why a lot of people are suggesting trying him there.

Basically, what have we got to loose. What we are currently doing isn't working and yes i agree one player can't solve our problems but if we don't try something we are in for more of the same next year

Ponga is a fullback who it threatening at the line however he practically never is when returning the ball. unless he starts being threatening when returning the ball, it would probably better suit the team having him playing at 5/8 and utilising a fullback who brings the ball back strongly and offers some ball playing.

If we go Gamble I reckon defence would be a plus over having Ponga battle it out in defence. I don’t reckon Ponga would be up to it.
Ponga essentially up at 6 in attack then drop him back.
Not sure what Gamble could really offer in attack though.
At least we are looking at options.
I feel like Gamble will at least bring some competitiveness and fire that we clearly are missing. Gamble isn't the most skilled or fluid player but he brings a certain mentality that's similar to Josh Reynolds back in his bulldogs days.

Tamou won a grand final at the Cowboys under Parr. If we take Tamou on minimum contract and move Klemmer on, is that a good move?
I don't think so personally. I'm not against freeing up cap space by moving Klem, but need a functional prop to replace him and Tamou ain't it.

Tamou been good, past it, Klem still strong why move him.
Plenty of dead wood to get rid of and don’t think cap is that much of a worry

Klemmer might be on overs but he’s our only consistent player. Would be crazy to let him go for someone over the hill like Tamou.

So knowing the Knights it’ll definitely happen.

I'm not sure if the bloke will be starting in the halves next year but at least he's good depth if we find someone better.

Prick of a head but a decent footy player
