It’s a lazy narrative to say it’s anything but good cap management. The more successful clubs know how to work the system. Ours isn’t one of those clubs.

I think some players do take less (at least in the short term - I can't speak for the post-football careers) to play for premierships too, as much as we hate to think about it. It's really just the inverse of saying "we have to pay more to get talent to the Knights".

Obviously Uncle Nick helps, too. I'm sure he stands by his word after players retire, etc.

Yep. They’ll escape it with the local media in the town but they’re responsible for this mess.

I can fully understand some players leaving the club because they need a change or are stuck behind someone else in the pipeline, but if Dom is to go to the Roosters, this really shits me.

I won’t be cheering him on or wishing him well like I have for many other players who’ve left the club.
