I feel like @macavity is on the money. A good club will pick him up and get the best out of him near immediately and we'll probably wonder why we ever went after Miller.

I hate to say this but I think we need to move both of the Saifitis on. Not easy I know from a cap perspective while we’re still paying for Klemmer to play for another team.

Honestly what is it about this club and front rowers? We’ve been been dying for a forward leader for as long as I can remember but even when we have origin quality props on the books they’re lazy, unmotivated and downright stupid in a Knights jersey.

Give us your best offer

Our item last week about leading Knights players being for sale has triggered lots of interest from rival clubs. The word out of Newcastle is that while players were surprised by the news, they weren’t opposed to leaving. Former Blues prop Daniel Saifiti is an attractive option. The Knights are interested in deals for him and the likes of centre Bradman Best. Top players who are easy to offload are a simple, but emotional, way of ripping up a roster.

Some quality front rowers in England. We should just keep recruiting from there. Would be cheaper and more willing.
Great call. Would love an Adrian Morley in the team right now.

Looks like we are targeting English talent recently which is great. I hope we keep Brailey for a tad longer because Miller should be losing his spot pretty soon.

Letting players go such as Dan and Best is ok if you have potential replacements. We are in a sad state if Ponga and Gagai go SOO, Ponga is covered by Gamble but Tuala, Hunt and Sasagi for Gags is a worry and that’s only 1 game, possibly 3.
If we let Dan go then we would need the likes of Johns, Jones or Lucas to step up unless we managed to acquire someone more towards DanS standard and that’s putting Hetherington in a more full on situation.

It’s bit concerning to read that the players weren’t aware of this until it hit the media. Would indicate a huge problem in the club, and frankly deter anyone from signing.

That’s if it’s true. I’m still not sure if any of this story is true tbh.

Honestly it sounds like the club has already mentally given up on this year again, and the blame is squarely on the roster rather than AOB. God imagine if we finish bottom 4 and he keeps his job another year. How does the club justify wasting half a decade? And then the recovery period?

Wests don't really seem to strive for success for the Knights. As long as we exist and are in the black, I think they're happy. Everyone needs to stop buying merch and attending games. f**k all people at the club deserve it anyway.

Having said all that, I don't really care if we let dsaf go. Never performs to his pay packet, and I honestly don't think we'll be worse off without him as long as he's replaced by someone who wants to have a dig. Splitting up the brothers might be best for their footy anyway. Best I think has performed at least close to his pay this year and I don't really know how he's part of the problem before a lot of other blokes, but whatever. We need a shake up.

We have literally been the worst club in the NRL the past 30 years. 4 spoons and worst losing streak in history to add to that.

How does the city of Newcastle in general feel about the club? I hope they are as sour as we are!

I don’t live in Newy anymore (Sydney), but honestly from what I’ve seen the vast majority of the fan base seem happy with how things are and are content with mediocrity as long as they can go and watch a game.

There’s also this really shitty mentality where I think some of our supporters actually enjoy the kudos they get for showing up despite how bad the team is.

It actually disadvantages the club though because there’s no accountability because they know the team will be supported no matter what, even if that’s to the clubs detriment.

I really wish something could be done. Club would 100% respond to a boycott, but it would never happen.

The above is true for some people. The SuPpORt The BoYz types.

For a lot, we are just frustrated, angry and embarrassed about the state of the club.

We haven't been relevant in nearly 20 years and we have lost multiple generations of supporters. Kids love a winner and are embarrassed to support a pathetic team. Even my kids, season ticket holders from birth and raised on it... its a constant sell job to get them to support the local team, which is heartbreaking.

I am in retail. There is actually a noticeable difference in people when the club has one of its rare purple patches. People are happier and spend more. You actually see club colours.

Unfortunately for the majority the overwhelming emotion is apathy. People just struggle to care any more, because failure is expected, and investing any sort of emotion is just setting yourself up for disappointment. This is very different to 20+ years ago, when the vast majority of Novocastrians were invested and took considerable pride in our Knights.

And on topic, I don't want to see the Safs or Best go.

And it is absolutely damning on the club that we would even have to consider it given a large number of our top 30 next year will be kids with no or very little NRL experience.

We are actually going backwards on a lot of metrics next year, yet apparently have no money and have no top 30 slots. Its mental.
