Especially when you consider we apparently had a spare 500k to offer Dom young before he went to roosters, now we magically don’t have any cap space

To me it says those we are seriously paying are being paid handsomely.

And I bet out of those 1/3rd, we probably overpaid them rather than minimum wage because someone spooked us into thinking an NRL club was interested in them.

Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Oryn is on a solid contract just to make sure he didn't go somewhere else.

Toohey’s News

- Bradman Best is in the process of switching managers. It could give more incentive for his new management to get a new deal done with the Knights ASAP rather than waiting to become a free agent in November. Toohey says his current deal will put him in the top 5 highest paid centres next season.
- Knights want an experienced backup half so may look to re-sign Adam Clune, and have started negotiations with Enari Tuala.
- No longer looking for a backup hooker, believing Phoenix Crossland & Riley Jones are enough cover. Jones has been upgraded and will join the top 30 next year.
- Andrew Johns’ role as a coaching consultant will be under review at the end of the season (as will every staff member, that’s what end of season reviews are).
- Fletcher Sharpe has been upgraded to a development contract for next year, originally was meant to be in 2025. Says Oryn Keeley & Fletcher Myers are 2 of the other development contracts so far.

Clune is a definite re-sign for me.

Good luck to him if he gets a deal in England, though. He doesn’t have the physical here, week in week out. But he’d kill it in Super League.

Won’t get a better back up half, not quite 1sts but classy in Cup, been killing it.
No sign of a future 7 coming through in the next year or two so wouldn’t hurt to keep him for a season or two

I’ve lived a happy life with the assumption that anything hoops reports is totally made up

in saying that, cogger is like a poor man’s Hastings isn’t he? Sure he looks good in the panthers , but where would we play him full strength? Is he suited for 6?
