It's good news to finally make a signing. Do people think that Rory will be our starting hooker or will Levi retain his spot and Rory to the bench? Either way it seems that Randell is on the outer and won't be re-signed beyond 2017.

I think Rory will be a bench forward/utility hooker. Pretty much used exactly how we used Hilder. If rory plays anywhere near as solid as Hilder did ill be happy.

Yeah I loved having Matt Hilder in the team, tackled anything that moved and had a bit of playmaking ability as well. Rarely let us down. I'll be pleased if Rory can emulate that for us in 2017/2018

Well I suppose people got excited about signing the current NSW Origin halfback and look at how that has worked out for us.

But, this is the sort of signing we need though. Good dependable players. If the club is going to focus on youth policy.

Kostjasyn and Mullen sharing the hooking duties, with a young 5/8 might work out nicely.

If he is good enough to play in a star studded Cowboys premiership winning team, I think he is going to improve our team. He's not going to break open games but he is a solid and composed player, good trainer, experienced and just gives it everything. Every team needs no frills players.

Guys like billy Peden, matt hilder and are in the same mould as Rory. They were both very strong assets to our teams and never let anyone down.

We could do worse. We aren't treating this as a coup. He is just a player to add experience and a bit of steel to the tram, nothing more, nothing less.

Perfectly fine by me. Haven't had one of those for a while. Doesn't have the aggression that Jez had, but will be capable of playing longer minutes and has more playmaking ability

This. I laugh at people crying because he's not a star. Well we're f**king not going to ever sign one of those now are we? If we can sign a decent, perhaps underrated member of a premiership winning side then I'm not gonna complain about it. We've gotta start somewhere.
