About as well as he could have in a thoroughly beaten team. Safe at the back. They really marked up on him hard in attack, I think JT only gave him the ball once because he generally had 2 or 3 blokes in front of him. They did their homework... but yeah the Cowboys missed their big boppers.

Just saw an article saying David Mead is unhappy at the Donkeys and may ask for a release. Surely we'd be interested. He'd be a great signing for us at this stage of the season imo

Mead knowingly took a massive pay cut to play reserve grade and now he is unhappy that he took a massive pay cut and is playing reserve grade?????

It's true, it definitely isn't what it used to be. If the cap goes up to $10 million next year, $400k is the average wage... and that's just under the cap. 250k is chump change.

The David Mead thing is interesting, there were rumours we tried to get him last year. He's a really solid player imo and quite underrated. It's a bit strange that he went to the broncos in the first place when he supposedly wanted a fullback gig. He was never going to replace Wayne's golden child at the back and now he's been frozen out of first grade entirely. He would be the ideal short term pick up for us this year, it would be good for him too because he gets a chance to impress and then move to another club for next year to cement a position. Or he could stay with us and possibly get a wing spot in 2018 but would be hard to dislodge Ross or Sio.

Bring him in I say, would make us look a hell of a lot better this year.

I'm still celebrating at the players we have shed. Never thought some of them would leave or be pushed out of the 'millionaires' club.

We are targetting players most clubs would pay big dollars for ie. the top players - so competition for them is fierce. You aint gonna jag too many of them unfortunately. Clubs will do anything to keep them. Just as we would to keep our best now.
