It was reported Finucane was set to re-sign a long with a few other Melbourne players. The other players have been officially announced but no word on Finucane yet.

What possible box does Lolo leave to be ticked?, lol. Guy is a freak.

Finucane ticks these boxes nicely, is he still on our radar or is he all but re-signed at the Storm?
lol, I both said throw the chequebook at Lolo AND answered your question in my post. What more can I say?

Finucane would be fantastic, I had basically forgotten about him.

Do we really need Finucane?

He plays lock right? Doesn't seem necessary when we've got Barnett playing the way he is. And our second row is strong as well and I wouldn't want him to push Sione or Buhrer out of the starting side. So what would be the point of signing him if it means adding to our only position of strength?

'Lolo is a different story because he's arguably the best forward in the game. But we would have to pay that guy $1m+ to get him down here and I feel that I'd rather see us spend that on getting Jack Bird to play in the halves which is actually a position we need to strengthen.

Very little difference between lock and prop these days. I'd say Finucane and Lolo would move to prop if either were to sign with us. Wouldn't change anything in their game except the number on their back.

If Luke Yates is getting 50-odd minutes a game for us then there is definitely room for Finucane in this side. Barnett isn't playing big minutes exactly.

I really really want Yates to succeed but he looks tiny out there.

Not sold on offering Prior big dollars but unless we want to throw the bank at Woods or Lolo (and we would get rejected on both) there isn't much out there in the way of front rowers.

If Pauli hadn't had a car crash this might be a different conversation - by all accounts actually had a go in pre season

Personally, I wouldn't be throwing huge cash at Woods. Not top shelf by any means.

Toamololo is a no brainer. He's worth squillions.

Teddy will be minimum $1mil a season. I'd rather play ponga at fullback and spend a mil on a genuine half tbh. But I wouldn't complain if we got teddy.

Hodko played his best with Stewart at FB always backing up, i would rarely throw that money at someone, but Teddy would be worth it, as long as he stayed fit.

Need to find some gems for depth, giving us the chance to spend big.

Unless Pauli comes back and is a revelation we desperately need an experienced front rower. Now Scott is a no go thenoff contract stocks look really thin. Matt Prior looks as good as anyone unless we want to speculate on another youngster or Brown can find a hidden gem in the UK.

Wardle has been playing centre right? How was he last week?

Wardle played second row on the weekend and looked better than he did at centre. Still not at first grade level yet though.

I know he's not a rumoured signing but how'd Ponga go on the weekend?
About as well as he could have in a thoroughly beaten team. Safe at the back. They really marked up on him hard in attack, I think JT only gave him the ball once because he generally had 2 or 3 blokes in front of him. They did their homework... but yeah the Cowboys missed their big boppers.

Do you see that as fitness and the potential is there to.lift to FG standard?
I'm sure he is well behind in fitness, having missed almost all of the pre-season and just coming back from surgery. Haven't seen enough of him to really say if he can be NRL standard. I hope he can.

IMO, he's a long way off being an NRL centre, if ever. Can't be too far away from the forwards seeing as he made the extended bench last week, but Tupou is in front at this point.
