We could do with Paasi's impact off the bench, and he wouldn't break the bank either. Wouldn't touch Blair with a 10 ft pole.

So if that's it, my priority would be Matulino, Evans, Paasi then Blair.

I don't rate Blair at all, Paasi would be a good pick up for the right price as impact off the bench.

A bit left field but if we want an old hard head what about Jacob Lillyman?

I could get on board with that, he was pretty good at the Warriors and he was still in the QLD team until a year or two ago wasn't he? He'd be getting on a bit but getting him on a 1 year deal with an option in our favour would be a calculated risk I reckon.

Sharks forum says he has put pen to paper today.
For the record, if you guys are offering Bird what the papers are saying then it is overs. He is a great utility player but for a full time first grade spot he is only a centre or second rower.

Edit : and now the Sharks have confirmed http://www.sharks.com.au/news/2017/03/24/key_sharks_re_sign.html it.
What might be overs for the Sharks isn't overs for the Knights.

You guys will be OK without him. We NEED him.

I agree, we'll be fine without him.
It looks like it may be coming down to Jack vs Chad for us. Townsend is asking a lot as well, if we cant keep him then it will be Bird to 5/8 Maloney to half, or both may take less to stay with the team.
I hope you guys pick up some more talent and start becoming a good team again. I have a lot of respect for Moons and how he helped our club plus my old man was from Stocko. He played with them in the 50's and i still keep this beautiful clock he won as best and fairest in sight as soon as you walk in my home. In fact last year i drove up and donated to the Stockton historical society some penants and pocket sown on badges from his teams.
All the best.

But on a more positive note, Ponga was great last night. Set up a try, had a couple line breaks, scored a try. Will be our best player the day he steps foot in Newcastle.

I feel like a broken record but Bolton was awesome again last night, 200 metres. With Scott and McLean coming he may not even get a starting gig next year.

Agree 100%, one of the most underated front rowers in the game and wouldn't be demanding big money. He's the sort of player you think is an old veteran but he hasn't even reached 30 yet. He's off contract but I can't see him leaving the Cowboys.

In my honest opinion, if we're to win games and dare I say be a premiership force we need to fill the blank positions with either new recruits or members of our current squad have to have a genuine change in form over the course of the year.

1.Kalyn Ponga
2.Nathan Ross
3.Dane Gagai
4.Pete Mata'autia
5.Ken Sio
6.Jack Bird
7.AnyoneOtherThanTrent
8.Tim Grant

17.Jacob Saifiti/Pauli Pauli

I'd be over the f**king moon with the acquisition of; Aaron Woods, Tim Grant, Jack Bird, AnyoneOtherThanTrent

I thought he was a few years older than he is, to be honest. We'd get a few good years out of him, I'm all for it.

We probably won't sign anyone decent but it won't be for lack of money thrown their way. We could seriously be $2mil+ under the cap next year they way things are going
