Rumoured Targets 3

Odd that Sharks supporters are questioning our buys.
They backed up a single premiership in a lifetime with a one point win over us and are in a scramble to sign players. Meanwhile, we have focus and a clear plan for sustained performance.
I can't see any point to it rather than to try to lower our future to theirs.

I can understand that, but your club is in such a fragile state that it doesn't seem like a good idea to pay overs for "a couple of kids" that might be good players. Bird is proven to be good, but not in the position you want to play him. Ponga is a risk.

It would make more sense to pay overs for nrl proven players to guide your young team around.

And if you were Brown, with a heap of money to spend, who is it that you would be trargetting right now for next season and beyond. Give me 3 names. The 3 players you are most confident will help 'guide the young team around?'

I can't be assed looking at who's off contract.

My point still stands, big risks on really big money for no guarantee.

Your point needs to be supported by names otherwise you have no point. If you were Brown, with a heap of money to spend, who is it that you would be targetting right now for next season and beyond. Give me 3 names. The 3 players you are most confident will help 'guide the young team around?'

I'm not going to look into it. But there are players off contract all the time.

These 2 signings stink of Brown hoping they're going to fix all of his problems.

Nobody that saw tonight's game could possibly deny that the main thing the side needs at the moment is a couple of strike weapons in the spine. Ponga and Bird are the absolutely best we could realistically hope to get in that regard.

An experienced prop would be good too but not quite as desperately.

...and just like that.. pop. No point to all you have written today.

That stinks of sour grapes.

Surely you can do better.

Our forwards really aimed up. Looked like dead set midgets out there though.

I get what Slots was saying about Pete the other day. I really like him, he's a solid first grader, always tries hard. But too many errors in his game and just lacks a bit of class.

No clue why you think Brown had the problems you attribute to him. He was brought in as a long term fix and has made substantial progress.
He still has a relatively young team that is developing. He has identified where the team can benefit outside of the current roster. Most are aware that putting experienced players around them will help.
Bird is just one signing and despite his age he has experience and the qualities we want. Ponga has the raw talent but he also has shown strong desire which is also what we want.
We aren't going to settle there.

Cute that you're assuming it's just Brown. Lets not forget for a second that Mooney is behind these signings too, the same bloke that signed Jack Bird to Cronulla to begin with; I'm sure we wouldn't be throwing big money at him if he didn't think he was worth it and the same applies to Ponga.

The man is responsible for building your premiership winning team but suddenly you doubt the way he's managing our cap with new signings? Struggling to find the logic there.

Starting front row 150m, James Graham 215m.

Starling and Stockwell are garbage. The saifitis are jaded as f**k and need 6 weeks in nsw cup beating upon scrubs.

Fair call. Was more referring to the fact we didn't get steamrolled while they had the ball - as would have happened 6 months ago. We still have all the front row impact with the ball of an under 9s team.

The fact we've been right in 5 out of 6 games with our front row rotation (though there's been some good individual performances) is astonishing. James Graham would be a godsend for us.

Still don't get why anyone likes Stockwell. Plodder extraordinaire.
Be cause he is all we have currently and Stocks to his credit has put in this year, like rest of pack in majority of games so far have put in.

If we had better options we'd use it. Hopefully recruitment drive is going to grab some A+ forwards who lead on and off field. Once deal with Bird is done. (One way or the other) I look forward to hearing who we are chasing next. We need that one more super signing (Bird) to convince others to make the leap to us.
