Hmmmm I dunno he was really hitting some form before re-signing so I'm not so sure. If he hit the 3 handle though it wouldn't be much more than that I guess.

If the salary cap is $9.5mil next year we will have like $3mil to spend.

If hokko, gagai sione and buhrer are all on 600k each, that's 2.4 mil.

If we had another 4 players on 400k ($1.6mil)

6 players on 250k (1.5mil)

11 players on minimum - 100k (around $1mil)

That's probably a fairly realistic breakdown of what our team would be on, or about where I would expect us to be, I wouldn't be surprised st all if we were even further under the cap than this

8.5mil cap for 25 players means an average of 340k.

Barnett was re-signed for 225k a year.

Even Sione, probably our best player, we re-signed for 425k - and gnashed our teeth about that.

We have a stack on 85-120k.

I understand we have room for 3 new players in our top 5 earners even if Hodko stays, and room for another 6-8 on "above average" dollars.

In other words....we have huge cap dollars to play with.

Just need some takers that we actually want.

Not the case. He will be in line for a big bump in 2019.

Player managers not so keen to play the game with us now that a couple of blokes like Mooney and Brown have a bit more of an idea. Before they'd write a number on a piece of paper, slide it across the table and get a nod from Hages without an eyebrow being raised.

I think Barrett endorsed him for the captaincy, then Fulton decided to get rid of him completely because he thought he was too small.

Apart from waiting for all these quality players that are supposedly going to be pushed out, the cupboard is looking pretty bare in terms of players left off contract.

Gavet and Agnatius Paasi would be definite upgrades. Maybe Ray Thompson?
