And given we haven't been able to sign anyone with all the cash we have this year it's not looking too likely that we'll get anyone next year either which basically puts us in a continuously bad situation. We've been on a slow and continuous downward spiral (punctuated by the occasional finals appearance) for about 10-12 years now and we're now in pretty serious danger of being stuck at the bottom of the ladder for another 3-5 years.

I think the thing that really f*cked us was the year with Stone/Hags in charge, not just because they signed people on ridiculous contracts, but because they lost us any sense of respectability left over from the Bennet years...
Under Bennett, we were a middle-of-the-pack team that over performed in 2013, but we certainly werent as much of a lost cause as we look now.
If Brown had come in to coach us for the 2015 season, of the back of 3 reasonable/passable years and still with a reasonably talented (though pretty half assed team) together, we might have been able to sign a few guys as we moved on the dead wood.
Instead, Brown took over when we were at our lowest and he has had to sell us as a career move without much prospect of success for anyone dumb enough to sign.
