If he's that good he should be in firsts now then. In our best 17 wouldn't you say?
He isn't in our top 17 atm, but after a full off season where he can put a little bit of size on he will be ready, same as Josh King, both will be ready for next year.

For Meaney to play 1sts someone drops back, say Sio, he plays res f/back so side is similar
He's playing well, but he isn't ready for 1sts, needs a full off season, don't do to him the same as Dennis, give the kid some time and give them all a proper crack next season.

if everything falls in place recruitment wise and the off season jumps of some players, we can seriously push for the top 8.

We have many options re shift to the back line to bring him in. Pat has been horrendous the past few weeks as well. No reason he can't make way and a shift happen to give Meaney a run. Reports are suggesting Pat may not be here either next season.

Pat? You mean Pete?

Interesting. On the face of it Gallen leaving the sharks to go anywhere else would be a very long shot. Too much legacy at Cronulla.

Ah. Tend to agree with u then. He can take Fat Pat with him as well.
So how come the fat Pat, have you watched him, plays well, gives it his all, doesn't look fat, has that same quality the brothers all have, give it 100% plus, might not be good enough but he does contribute, look at last game, set up a try, we didn't win but not his fault

Throw away line mate and prob a little harsh. I am twice as fat as Pat lol. But he got a contract way over his worth from us last time for 2 reasons:

1. He is Sione's brother and the idiot responsible for our contracts at that stage was terrified we would lose Sione to the Dogs and;

2. The idiot in charge was Michael Hagan.

He has done very well out of us for a guy who has never looked like 1st grade standard.

Nothing personal but will be happy to see the back of him when his contract ends and would be very surprised if any nrl club picks him up.

ESL or real NRL for Pat I'm afraid.

So it's not so much that he can't play as its that he is overpaid, should he have said before signing, no too much, please pay me half, I am sure all of us have knocked back pay increases in the past. Dollars blind ability, not his fault he is overpaid,

No. He cannot play either imo. Should not gave been offered a contract at all. Only reason he did was because their manager offered the 3 brothers up as a package at the time (Pete was at Saints). Sione was 19 and had just played for Australia. Nowhere near nrl standard. Good luck to him he got the contract and cashed the cheques. He tries hard but isnt up to it.

But the days of the gravy train at the Knights are over and I for one and glad about that.

Well who gives a f**k about what 19yo Sione thinks? Hagan stitched is up with the package...

Yes, in hindsight there's no doubt its another example of how bad that era of recruitment was. I remember saying at the time the manager will not be able to lererage like he was with a 'package' deal next time round.

The club obviously has no concerns over Sione's concusiion history going forward. I could be wrong but everytime he cops what seems to be a light, innocuous bump around the head he looks in trouble. Does anyone else see it this way?
