The Burgess twins of 2013-2014 I would welcome with open arms, but the Burgess twins of 2015-2017 have been terrible and not what we need. Their on field discipline is aweful and it looks like they've been reading their own press a bit too much. We need a forward leader who will stand up when the going is tough and will show the young guys the way. I can't see George or Tom Burgess doing that to be honest.

I wouldnt pay heaps for Graham, but if he is only playing 20minutes a week (and his salary reflects that) i think he would definitely be worth it.

I think most of his value would come in mentoring during the week and psyching the guys up on game day.

Barry Toohey is apparently reporting tomorrow we are chasing Adam Blair...

Not excited to be honest. Was pretty rubbish at a club not killing it already.

250+ games, close to 40 tests for NZ including a World Cup win, part of 2 very successful systems, known for keeping his body in exceptional shape and being a great leader. I understand why most fans don't like him, and I wouldn't be breaking the bank to get him either, but he ticks every box Brown & Mooney are looking for.

Toohey did still say that the Dragons are favourites to get him so don't start cutting yourselves yet.

Recruitment news from Newcastle Sunday
  • Adam Blair is now the '#1 recruitment target' and we're poised to make him a big money offer. Knights have contacted his manager but no official talks have taken place yet. Warriors & Dragons also interested.
  • James Graham is back on the Knights radar with the Bulldogs fire sale set to heat up. Knights interest in Graham is not as strong as earlier in the season though, with more concern over his longevity in the game.
  • Slade Griffin will be in town on Tuesday to meet with Knights officials as the search for a backup 9 continues. Michael Lichaa & Mitch Rein have already met with the club.
  • Knights still have about $1.4m left in the cap for this season and are considering pre-paying Trent Hodkinson a big chunk of the $800k he is owed for next season. This would free up space for next year and also make Hodkinson more attractive for Super League clubs. He's highly regarded at the club though, and won't be forced out. If he wants to finish his career in England the Knights won't stand in his way, nor will they try to move him if he wants to stay.
  • Sione Mata'utia, Daniel Saifiti, Jacob Saifiti, Lachlan Fitzgibbon & Sam Stone all still have a year to run on their current deals but have all been offered extensions.
  • Heath Gibbs & Sam McIntyre from under 20's have both signed 3-year full time deals with the Tigers.
  • Dane Gagai's younger brother Jacob has been playing well in local league and could earn a contract next year. Roosters are also looking at him.

Thanks for posting. The Adam Blair part makes my stomach sink though.

Blair has that bit of grub I do not like as we saw when he put his own teams hooker out of the game for the next 8 months. That shit we could do without. However I would not hesitate giving him a couple of years after seeing what he has bought to to Brisbane's middle. If he is brought here to replicate that then I'm all for it - minus the stupid grub part.

What has he brought their middle? I can't cop throwing big bucks at a prop that struggles to crack 80 metres a game.
