I agree, love what I have seen from him, he transitioned from 20s to NSW cup with relative ease. Needs an off season with the full time squad to be ready for a few games off the bench but probably won't be fully ready for a more permanent bench spot til 2019.

We do not need any more halves if Hodko is staying for another year.

We do however need at least 2 more, hopefully 3 more props ASAP.

Lamb has already stated that he is prepared to stand aside and welcomes the idea of us signing a Cronk or Maloney and that he doesn't want to leave the club if it happened .

Got a quote? Not saying your lying, just that's a big call for the kid and I think wrong for him to choose that. He showed this year he's ready to go forwarth with this team next year.

I would personally rather move forward with Watson and Lamb in the halves and Hodkinson and Cogger as backups. I like Maloney as a player but imo the future is Watson and Lamb with Ponga and Levi. That money can be better spent on forwards.

I think Moylan will end up at souths, Cronk to Penrith

I remember this being said as well. If he is smart and plays the long game he'll see benefit of learning from a Maloney for a few years and get enough games when players are out injured or on rep duty.

I don't know that a Moylan with a shitty attitude is what we need. Maloney showed enough yesterday to suggest we could do with him in the team.

I reckon Moylan to Sharks, Maloney to Knights.

On the hooking front for the Storm, Brandon Smith (21 year old Kiwi international who has been in front of Levi for the future Kiwi job at this point in his career) is the heir apparent for Cameron so Slade is definitely 3rd in the pecking order down there and does make him likely to be much more cost effective for us as a first replacement back up for Levi. Lichaa is going to be looking for a step up, not backwards in his career, as a first string hooker so we aren't going to be an attractive option for him.

Just as an out of left field option, I'm wondering if Luke Yates might make a decent 2nd string option to try and develop as a dummy half for us? He has a big motor, defensively strong but he'd need to develop his ruck skills to make him viable...what do others think?

I floated the idea of Yates to hooker a while back Nut. If the club had a coach with some foresight a few years ago he would have already made the transition one would think. There's absolutely no doubt he'd be the strongest defender in the comp playing at dummy half if he could make the transition.

He's had some training there since June, no idea if it's continuing though (injury aside).

If Yates wants to be part of top 17 then he must try something such as hooker, even if similar to Buhrer. His size and the fact we will be stronger in backrow will make it unlikely unless lots of injuries, that he will get many starts.
He is a very strong player, big motor, but needs more.

My first thought was going all in on Blair and skipping Graham is a bad error... but perhaps missing both of them isn't the end of the world. Blair is a bit hit- and-miss, Graham old and injury prone...

Would still love either of them.

Hopefully a forward leader shakes out in the cap crisis at a few clubs. It is the obvious desperate need.

Also reported that Beale has signed with the warriors too. It's awesome that even with the stacked roster they have, we played reasonably better than them for majority of the year. Makes me love what Browny's accomplished even more. Career suicide going to the warriors I reckon
