Fitzgibbon has really impressed in the back half of the season, for sure. As with any player playing for their career, I'll reserve judgement on him long term. If he can keep improving he could be a fantastic asset for us.

When he first hit grade I wanted to gouge my eyes out with frustration watching him, credit to him for turning it up.

Just say it is true. Do you think the club would take him back? We would offer him
A lot less than what he wants and he'd probably end up elsewhere imo.

Be beautiful if he went to the Broncos so Moga could run over the top of him, poetic justice

South's supporters are adament he signed for about the same money we offered.

This Lurker fool is suggesting McGuire was the reason he signed there - Madge's professionalism.

What a slap in the face for Brown then.

I'd be surprised if he cares.

Graham confirmed to Saints on a 3 year deal.

That seems lengthy for a player of his age with the recent injuries. Not surprised we balked a little.

Apparently the 3rd year is an option in favour of Drags. Smart if true.

As much as I'm mostly happy with the guys we've recruited for next year... it's starting to look a lot like we're not going to benefit from the salary cap squeeze very much beyond any effect it's already had, maybe catching a couple of scraps if we're lucky. Bit frustrating.

We're not getting our forward leader... and what concerns me about that is that Dan and Jacob won't reach their potential without guidance. Brown has alluded to the fact that these 2, particularly Dan, need to take it to another level off the field before they'll be the best they can be. They need an old head that they respect keeping them in line. Actually, to be honest Dan really needs someone better than himself in there to push him, too. I can see him plateauing due to the fact he's practically undroppable.

Still holding out hope for Lillyman, he would be about as good as we can do at this point. Not super inspiring but a good addition to the squad regardless.

AFTER missing out on a host of experienced props, Newcastle look to have finally secured one with Queensland Origin player Jacob Lillyman set to join the Knights next year.

Lillyman is close to agreeing to join the club despite attracting interest from the Roosters and a return to North Queensland after his time ended at the Warriors. Lillyman, 33, will link up with Maroons teammate Aidan Guerra at the club.

Good result if true I think
