I should clarify, right after Buzz said it Bill Harrigan said he’s heard Oates has sorted the situation out with his manager and he’s heard he’ll stay with Brisbane. Seems like a weird thing for Buzz to make up though, and as much crap as he gets he’s usually pretty plugged in with player movements.

Even though Buzzed isn't completely reliable, I'm sure he has better sources than Hollywood ffs..

Oates is a sensational player and just keeps getting better, was great today, must be terrifying to be opposite him.

I’d take him either way, his running style would make him a great back rower, it’s just his defence that would be suspect for the position.
If he can play well enough at back row to keep Fitz, Guerra, Sione or Barnett out then huge plus, if not keeps new signing Lee in reserves, win, win me thinks, make no promises, make him earn it or stay a winger, but pay him as winger with upgrade if he makes back rower

Exactly, if we got Oates, Pangai and a cheap back up half, i’ll be happy going into next season.

Matt Frawley closing in on Knights deal

"I'm a realist, I know I'll have to work for a spot there," he said.

"I've got no dramas with that, I want to go up there and prove myself again.

"It is an option, the Knights are a club on the way up and I'd love to go there. It's still up in the air to an extent, but confident something will get done in the next week or so.

"They've got some good players in Pearcey, Connor Watson and other good halves. It's an option. I wouldn't say it's done and dusted but if it was to happen I would be excited and it would be a good place for my footy.

"We've had a few discussions but it's still early days."

He's a decent depth player, far more capable of coming in and doing the job than Cogger or Lamb ever were. A good signing for what he offers and what his role at the club would be.

He's played some fantastic games esp when he first came into the Dogs side that had absolute no attack, his kicking game was pretty good.

He then got found out in defence and lacked consistency with his kicking. Went off the boil very quickly. Didnt really see much playmaking ability from him.

Did anyone watch his game on the w/e?

Can't say he is our answer but we certainly can use a half with some experience as back up. Thought he was going to be good a couple of years ago but seems to have stagnated and now being overtaken by new guys along with Cogger arriving, guess he sees an opportunity here.

Indirectly a swap with Cogger and I know which one I would rather have at my club

Good depth signing if it eventuates

Would’ve much rathered Mason Lino, but still a reasonable depth player. At least he has a kicking game
