Hastings ability makes him a no brainer signing. Would give the place a huge lift.

About what?
You are happy that we get excited about signing reserve graders?
No mate, your "rich getting richer" comment
The Raiders have been shit for ages and finally they start getting it together. Hardly cause to whinge like you did
Goood luck to them.
The NRL isn't a charity and the Knights are owed nothing.
I really like the idea of Barnett and Elliott being Knights. Symonds and Eden I will pass on however. I can understand the strategy behind what Brown and the coaching staff are doing. People who are asking why don't we just sign a big name player or why are we signing nobodies don't understand how badly our current situation reflects on players. No one is going to want to sign with the Knights and be stuck in a rebuild when they have other offers. Thats why its key Brown can find young talent that others clubs don't need and hope they pay off until we are further down the road of being competitive.

NEWCASTLE remain hopeful of finalising the playing futures of sidelined duo James McManus and Kade Snowden this season in a bid to free up vital space under the salary cap.
News Corp Australia can reveal the Knights are currently waiting on medical advice for McManus and Snowden before making any official decisions.
McManus, off-contract this season, hasn?t played in 2016 due to his ongoing battle with concussion and is favoured to retire.
It?s understood the Knights have contacted the NRL about the winger?s future and the ramifications if he decides to hang up the boots.
In the meantime McManus is currently working at the Knights in a bid to secure his career post-football.
Snowden has been tipped to retire due to chronic back, neck and knee injuries, but he is waiting on medical advice before making a decision.
The former Test and Origin prop is contracted until the end of 2017, which means he would receive a payout if his career was cut short this season.
Well thats $700k we can use next season to over pay our current squad. Good times
I hope so.Tariq Sims has signed with Dragons announced this week
Tariq Sims has signed with Dragons announced this week
NEWCASTLE co-captain Tariq Sims has turned his back on a contract option to stay at the Knights next season and is poised to announce he will quit the struggling club.
Sims has been strongly linked to a move to St George Illawarra although Manly have also been mentioned as a possible destination for the fringe NSW Blues Origin backrower.
The Daily Telegraph has been told Sims broke the news of his pending departure to Knights teammates and staff on Sunday at the club’s final training session in preparation for Monday night’s clash against Parramatta at Hunter Stadium.

The backrower, who was 18th man for the Blues in last season’s final Origin game, has been mulling over his future for more than a month with the option of a new one-year deal in his favour set to expire in the next 24 hours.
He linked with the Knights from North Queensland at the start of 2015 and he and his young family bought a house in Newcastle, openly admitting earlier in the season they were keen to stay long term to help the club rebuild under coach Nathan Brown.
But it is understood the security of a long-term deal at a rival club was a major factor in his decision to leave.

Feldt puts Origin snub in perspective
Only a matter of a few weeks ago, the Knights offered Sims an upgraded contract extension that would have superseded his option for 2017.
But the club is said to have withdrawn the new deal because they were not convinced Sim’s recent form warranted the pay increase.
Brown could not be reached for a comment on Sunday and former Melbourne Storm and Australian five-eighth Scott Hill, who now manages Sims, was guarded when asked about Sim’s immediate future.
“We will probably know more in a few days,” Hill said.
Tariq Sims joined the Knights from North Queensland at the start of 2015.
“There are security issues to consider in any decision he makes because he has a young family to think about as well.”
Meanwhile, Knights co-captain Jeremy Smith will miss the Eels game as expected through injury with backrower Lachlan Fitzgibbon tipped to be added to the bench.
The decision to rest Smith before the side’s trip to Townsville next weekend could open the door for young prop Josh King to be rewarded for some strong performances with his first starting role in the NRL.
