Rumoured Targets 3

We need about 3-4 Hymel Hunt clones to play in the outside backs at this stage. Guys who make metres, finish tries and at least have a go in defence.

Then we need a 5/8, a halfback, a new left side second rower and a few extra guys for depth...

Can’t wait to watch us rebuild for the 4th time in the last 20 years.

Clifford didn't show me enough tonight to indicate he'd make much of a difference but we need a 5/8.
Great news, although a bit of a waste this season, it will help going into next year.

Clifford will be our clear #2 half IMO. Maybe 1 on talent but I think there’s no debate what affect Pearce has on the team in other areas as a leader and respect he has from his peers.

clifford kicked and defended really well, but he didn't take the line on at all. didnt need to i guess with drinkwater carving up our right hand side. he made a try saved against dan on the line.

All he'd need to do straight up is defend, catch, pass and a few kicks as well as not obstructing plays. He can just give it to Ponga.

Clifford is an immediate upgrade on Green if nothing else. He's got a massive boot and competes hard especially in the kick chase, if he can be that steady half, defends solidly and putting massive torpedo bombs up on the last tackle I'll take that.
One bloke who I'd be chasing pretty hard is Reuben Garrick, not a world beater but solid winger and can goal kick

I’m not sold on Garrick, doesn’t seem that physical and gets monstered by other wingers.

I would pay out of my pocket to get Clifford here early. It would mean no more Mann for one. Also we possess the worst 5th tackle options in history. In history. At least if Clifford is bombing, it'll allow our lads to at least challenge.

I think the biggest issue that 2021 has revealed so far is that there seems to be a massive gap between our best 17 and the guys who come in as backup. Our best 17 should be playing finals footy for sure but after a few injuries in the backs we look like a reserve grade side almost immediately. I don’t want to be harsh given we’ve had to debut so many guys and naturally that makes things though but we need a strong squad of 30 rather than a good 17 and young debutants after that.

They gave top 30 spots to a lot of young kids like Hodgson, Young, Simi etc that probably aren't ready just yet. Hopefully it pays off in 2022 cause we are done.

Don’t see the point, can understand a swap say Klem for Lodge to suit one or both.
Lodge isn’t an improvement on our top 3 or 4 and we have more pressing needs in backline.
If we let our fringe/backups go, King and Saulo then promote the likes of Croker and Smith
