Will play 9 in a contender there and bench in a middling team here. Reckon that’s the reason.
I think he'll still play 14 but will be injected at hooker abit like Harry Grant and Josh Starling, he'll also be able to cover some minutes at 13 when Victor the Inflictor inevitably gets suspended

It's not about negotiating contracts simultaneously. It's about being able to assess your roster, your weak spots and your strengths and act accordingly. We appear to have moved to lock up weaknesses and let go a strength. I don't understand what the Knights recruitment and retention people are watching that makes any of those three decisions (Fitz, Mann, Watson) demonstrate how we're improving.

We don’t know what Mann and Fitz were signed for- there’s every chance that they are depth signings, and if that’s the case, I’m happy with it. We need to make signings outside of the top 17.

I wouldn't feel very valued either if the club I played for saw Fitzgibbon and Mann as more urgent signings
This is a statement I don't agree with. By all accounts Watson was offered the biggest contract of the 3. Those two have managers who were able to sort things out quicker for them.

Watson took his time here, we even upped the offer and then asked he consider it by a due date.

I'm disappointed but I still back the club here.

Depth? AOB starts Kurt every week, and re-promoting Lachlan Fitzgibbon two weeks after dropping him despite us winning the previous week and him doing literally nothing to earn a recall. He must have trained ahh-mazingly in that period. So it isn't depth.

But let's assume for a minute it is depth. Both players have proven to be absolute plodders over many seasons. We're not learning anything new about these guys. If you just want two bodies to fill out your roster, re-sign some young kids. It will be cheaper and at least you might have a hope of them improving and becoming first graders.

Mann will be depth, or now most likely the new #14.

Fitzgibbon I have no idea. This is one where I wish the club just moved on from Fitz and looked forward with a future prospect. I also doubt he'll be used as depth, I bet he's in that 17 more often than not, unfortunately.

I’m worried what impact his decision will have on the team. He’s obviously very highly regarded by the playing group.

And we all know if we give our blokes any excuse whatsoever not to perform they’ll take with both hands.
This was actually one of the first things that crossed my mind! If the Bulldogs win this weekend I'm absolutely putting it down to today's announcement.

They're grown ass men in a professional sporting environment. If they can't move on from this then maybe they should be in a different industry.

That's narrow minded. We can manufacture a whole host of reasons to shit the bed against the Dogs! We always do around July or August.

He is going to be very dangerous in that system. Wouldn't be surprised if he's being talked about as an Origin utility by the end of that deal.
You think?
Hynes, Burton, Paps, Api*, Radley..
Then next group Gutho/Jack/maybe Watson

Out of those.. Only Burton and Radley are true utility players..... Hynes I think is just a product of the Storm system and paps can really only cover fullback and maybe wing

This is the only thing that makes sense, and if it's the case then we would have had to pay extreme overs to keep him. It's possible we were never a chance once the Roosters came through with a deal. Bye Connor.

I'm not convinced he'll be great at hooker or even look great at the Roosters. Time will tell I guess.
