It’s funny everything can be linked to that one hesitant decision to sign an aging Mitchell Pearce to a 1-year deal.

That was the perfect time to say thanks but no thanks and move forward. We tried to get the best of both worlds and it’s backfired majorly.

Yep I think in hindsight it’s one of the biggest blunders in the club’s history. We could have had a serious crack at Adam Reynolds instead. Look at what he’s done for the Broncos in just one season.

It didn’t have to be though, just no one had the cahunas to make the decision and plan forward.

Even if Pearce was here now we’re still in the same predicament of not being able to find a half for next year and ultra unlikely he would have stuck around another year and been playing any good.

Just frustrates you. To their defense somewhat I guess we excpected Clifford to step up. Appears he has crumbled and his NRL career is hanging by a thread.

With the OC’s year being 2/3 or more of the squad there is no way we can afford to get the recruitment wrong again. It needs to be forensic level .

We are going back down to the spoon days. AOB was brought in to Stormafy our club but has absolutely nothing of the sort. Get AOB out of here first. He is never going to be part of any solution.

Adam Elliott and Hetherington are going to be huge plus. One had been arguably the forward buy of the season and become A class lock forward and the other is not going to take backwards step. We may see the latter pay for it a bit in suspension but he is not going to take losses lying down. Both should be with Friz as our back row next year IMO.

I have no issues with those two signings. We are still short 2 quality halves. We have the worst halves pairing in the NRL. I doubt we will climb any higher on the ladder unless we fix this issue after replacing AOB.

Not surprising that Hoy is leaving. He’s had enough time in first grade to prove himself and doesn’t look like he’ll be more than a fringe player at best. He certainly won’t be getting a regular starting spot outside of injury cover in the near future anyway so makes sense for him to go to the ESL and get some consistent footy there.

Hoy is a weird one, he's had good moments in 1st grade in between some horrendous ones, in reserves he either looks like he's trying too hard or disinterested, sometimes it looks like he's trying to replicate KP but he only has 20% of KP's natural ability. I think with Hoy it's mostly mental, he's got some ability but I think there's abit of a gap between where his self perceived level of ability is and where it really is. Hoy needs to go away and hone his craft, forget about trying to be Ponga lite and focus on the fundamentals.

Media person would know given who Adam’s manager is. It would be all over the league media.
It could be a nothing story or else the start of yet another damned rebuild. So sick of these cycles we go through.

Imo Hoy’s biggest issues are his lack of physicality and his error rate. He gets man handled just about every time he gets the ball and doesn’t look like breaking a tackle unless he gets the ball in a favourable position with some space in front of him. Some of his errors are really poor as well, too many dropped kicks.

Well if guys like Bevan French and Jai Field can carve up the ESL then Tex will be in with a shot at Man of Steel
