Don't see why the Eagles would release him though.

I still maintain we should have a crack at Meaney. He isn't a first choice player at the Storm.

Manly have salary cap problems don’t they? They’ve got 3 blokes on massive money and can’t pay others much as a result. If Garrick is off contract for 2024 I’d say he’d be almost certain to leave because surely there are clubs out there who would look at him as a first choice FB. Unless he wants to stay and be an underpaid winger for the rest of his career. Not out of the question that manly would let him leave early to free up some $$$ on their end.

Apparently both Parra halves will test their value Nov 1. Reckon we will have a crack? Of the 2, call me crazy, but is Dylan Brown the better option?

Garrick is going to be reliable under pressure. He can defend. He can finish a move and kick goals at a high percentage. He will also carry himself through a game so as to not be a primary target on each set like KP is.

Yes Brown is the better option for sure. With Mitchell Moses you get a halfback who's got a solid all-round skill set but he's hit his ceiling imo and I can't see him getting much better. Dylan Brown is younger and is already one of the best no.6s in the comp and still plenty of room to improve.

That being said, we do need an organizer with a good kicking game and Moses does provide that (good goal kicker too) so wouldn't be upset if we got him, but he'd be looking for big dollars I imagine so I'm not sure I'd want us paying massive money for a guy who's hit his ceiling already.

I wouldn't be against Meaney being a goal kicking winger for us but I don't see him being a full time first grade FB. The storm can get away with having guys like him playing these positions occasionally given the quality of what's around them, unfortunately we can't.

Not saying he would be as good for us as for Storm but he is a good player and I just don’t like the need to over criticise to justify someone not being here.
We are to harsh on our ex players rather than happy they have gone on to better things

I don't think you're directly responding to me but who is harsh on players who have moved on and shown to be better than we thought? Good on them. That's a reflection on how poor we are, that we couldn't get the best out of them.
