Ross will get his upgrade for 2018 if he holds form and pulls his head in. He's on close to 200K which both he and his manager would have signed off with huge smiles at the time.

He definitely won't be the youngest winger that will be running around in 2019 when his next deal might happen. The club has been very smart with him.

Im assuming its a bargaining position; offer him the upgrade if he agrees to an extension as well.

Without the extension, an upgrade aint worth shit to us.

I agree, the win-win outcome here would be for us to bump Ross up to about $300k for next year and he signs on for another 2 years in addition. That would make sense. That would bring him through to his early 30's and then he could be on a year by year contract from there depending on how he's playing and how his body holds up.

If we sack Brown no decent coach will ever come here again we will forever be stuck with the Stones of the world. Brown has taken a major risk with the way he is attempting to rebuild this club he could have signed a bunch of mediocre players and aimed to finish mid table each year and sneak into the 8 eventually but that would just continue the cycle failure we have been trapped in, sacking brown will not just scare off future coaches but no decent player will even look at this club going forward.

In relation to Ross, Brown is actually being pretty clever. They get the message across that they won't tolerate talk out of school. Plus they get to trial Ross as a centre without the scrutiny of doing it in first grade.
