Starting to think we got VERY lucky with Milford. If we had gotten Brooks or whoever (basically if we were a competent club) Milf would probably not come here. Luck isn't going to last forever. Get the man signed up. Our spine looks a world better with Milf in there.

1. Ponga
6. Milf
7. Clifford
9. Brailey
13. Croker
14. Mann

Mann will be 13 when he comes back

full strength bench should be
Croker
Jsaf
Thompson
Fitzgibbon

in theory Brailey can play 80 so we shouldn’t need a “Crossland like” player who can come on for a 20min stint at hooker

Brailey will not be fit for 80 mins this season, best we can hope for is rotating with Randall.
As for your full strength bench besides including Randall you would have to have Mann on the bench to cover multiple spots with two middle forwards

All pure speculation at this point but

All four of KPP, Matterson, Elliott and Hetherington would be quite a pack shift if that’s what we are intending to pull off together.

8. Klemmer
9. Brailey
10. D Saifiti
11. Frizzell
12. KPP
13. Matterson

14. J Saifiti
15. Hetherington
16. Elliott
17. Mann

As for the backs. If Milford stays (which I hope he does) it will be interesting how Pryce fits if we are getting him next year too.

Yep, 17m against the donkeys and 29m yesterday. The next superstar from the noted Newcastle Knights production line.

Decent squad filler is his future, not starting lock on a team doing anything decent

He only played 16 minutes yesterday and was at lock.

I don’t think he’s a superstar by any means, and I don’t see him as a starting lock. But if you’re going to purely use the stats sheet to hang a young player out to dry I wouldn’t be using yesterday as an example.

If he played 48 minutes he would have made 87 metres and 33 tackles at that rate. That’s not a bad lock workrate, especially for a guy who has a bit of bonus footy nous to his game. He could be a solid benchie, we’ll see.

As others have pointed out, he played limited minutes. I also noted that you failed to include his "stats" from his other games this year. Unsurprising

Where did I say he should be starting lock? Kids a prop

Matterson is an unabashed mercenary who has followed the money at every turn in his career. Toohey suggested he was after $800k during the week but I doubt any team will give that to a 28-year old who's never played rep footy or won a comp. Still won't be cheap especially if multiple teams want him.

Good player though, would be a big upgrade on Barnett.

Newcastle are after Hass, but Zammit wasn’t too impressed with the way his manager Tyran Smith spoke.

“We *10mins pause* cut no corners”

He talks about the players having to tick the right boxes before they'll take them on as a client. Let's see how Tyran ticks those boxes...

Why didn't we take a look at Lussick? Looked pretty sharp against us. Would have been a good fill in over Randall.
