RAIDERS INENTIFY ELLIOTT REPLACEMENT
The Raiders have reportedly set their sights on Bulldogs enforcer Jack Hetherington as a replacement for outgoing forward Adam Elliott.
Elliott has recently informed his teammates of the decision to join the Knights next season (see below for more).
News Corp journalist Michael Carayannis told SEN that the Raiders have met with Hetherington, who is also being chased by the Knights.
“Newcastle have signed Adam Elliott, and they met with Jack Hetherington, the Canterbury forward a couple of weeks ago who’s off-contract,” Carayannis said.
“I think you’ll find the Raiders now may dip their toes into the Jack Hetherington discussion to bulk up their forward pack.
“That could be the consequence of signing Adam Elliott Newcastle, they might miss out on Jack Hetherington.
“They want to get both, they’ve got one and they’re still looking at the other one.”
Hetherington has a mutual option in his contract for next season, however it seems unlikely the Bulldogs will take up their end given it’s been reported that Hetherington
has been given permission to explore his options for next season.
