ADAM CUTHBERTSON could become the latest Dragon to follow coach Wayne Bennett to Newcastle.
The Sun-Herald can reveal that the ball-playing forward is likely to leave St George Illawarra after a deadline to re-sign with the premiers lapsed last Tuesday.
After helping to resurrect his career, Bennett is keen to take Cuthbertson with him next season. Another NRL club has also expressed interest in his services.

Cuthbertson's career is in limbo after he missed the Dragons' deadline, while the Knights are reviewing their salary cap situation before tabling an official offer.
In a sign the Dragons may have moved on, the club announced the signings of forwards Will Matthews and Jeremy Latimore from the Titans and Warriors respectively.
''Newcastle and a third club came in but they still haven't formulated that offer,'' Cuthbertson's manager, Andrew Purcell, said.
''He didn't want to make a decision until he had everything in front of him and we're expecting that will be finalised in the next couple of days.
''Cuthbo has great respect for Wayne but he doesn't want to be bouncing around from club to club.
''He's really enjoyed his time at the Dragons. Wayne took him there and has been the catalyst for the turnaround but he also likes living and playing there. He has a great deal of respect for the Dragons.''

Meh. He's average, brings good experience for a depth player.

He's a million times better than anyone on our bench currently, the bloke is a genuine ball playing forward who can create breaks with his offloads, no one we have currently can do that consistently

Neville has put plenty of players into holes in his limited game time this year.

Cuthbertson has his own skills but we have plenty of other backrowers that will be in front of him.

Watts? Hell no.

We must be watching different teams, I can't remember the last time we made a break from a round the corner offload

Costigan has gotten several LBA's this season. Not many through a 'round the corner offload' but the result is still the same.

IMO having a forward who can offload can add another dimension to an attack, we currently don't have a forward who can offload consistently other than the odd flopping the ball out the back

Cuthbertson would be an upgrade on most of the passengers we have currently.

Yep, if we had the almighty Adam Cuthbertson the result would've changed.

Only players he would get a spot over against Manly would be Ciraldo or possibly Southern.

We've also flicked Pato, so theres 3 for starters, then add Marvin who seemed a fixture for a while, so then theres 4 he's in front of. Would he be more effective on the bench than AK, probably, so theres 5.

That makes him a must sign.................

Didn't know where else to put this but...

Sound like the Knights and the Jets will have a large cross-code shirt sponsorship deal.
